Hiya, forgive me for asking, but is this gym meet in Lincoln only for East Anglians, or can any of us attend?  Myself and my girlfriend would be interested in coming, as it is 30 minutes up the A1 for us

I think this is open to anyone who can make it - Just Pm Charlie B if you need more info

4. is there a train station close to the sports centre??? if not could anyone pick me and joe up from the train station???

:D

There is a train station in North Hykeham that is a 800yrds from the leisure centre but its very rare for the trains to stop there might be best to check with that it does stop there on that day.

If not and you go to lincoln train station the bus station isnt very far away if u cant get anyone to take u there and you'd need the number 27 bus going to Asda and you can get off right near the leisure centre then shouldnt be more than £3 for a return ticket on bus

Just a couple of questions............
1. Does every guy/gal that goes who is over 18 need a crb???

Charlie B mentioned on the last page that one person with CRB in the group would be sufficient.

Just a couple of questions............
2. Do we need a crb done by that leisure centre or will crb from other places (e.g. scouts, work) do????

Im sure if you have a CRB from one place it should be sufficient as I'm sure they all access the same records?

Just to clear things up

CRB checks are only needed for those organising an event or those that are working directly with children either in a profesional or voluntary sense.

As I have the qualification none of you attending need one. However if others have been CRB Checked then that is great. The CRB question came about because others were asking what was needed to gain access to leisure centres etc.

Only one person on site needs to have undertaken an emergency aid course. Again if anyone has done a full first aid course great. I have that covered for the Lincoln event

There is very little most of you have to do apart from turn up !!!

There will be a requirement for all participating to sign a medical consent form on the day.

The only other rules I am looking into relate to safety. Not quite sure at the moment as to what may be required from Health & Safety. Will let you all know after the risk assesment is done.

Also the Parcour Gymnast instructor at the centre has agreed to attend. Talking to him this week

I can split the post for you from the EA bockers area to the main area at the point you confirmed the details if you want? So the first post would read as follows and all discussion after it would be in the new thread? Or you may want to open a new one altogether, your call m8

Date now agreed

Saturday 1st March 2-4 PM

Venue : North Hykeham Leisure Centre Sports Hall

Parcour Gymnastics coach will be available to train and assist those wanting to develop tricks and tumbles.

Need now to get an idea on who will attend

Please can you post if you are attending

Want a minimum of 10 max of 20/25 so if we do not get enough EA bockers I may post to the wider forum

I'd love to come, spesh that there's a parcour coach there, but it's at least a 2 hour drive and will take up an entire Saturday - I'm really busy with Fuzzbutt orders and a full day is valuable to get a load of stuff sewn :(   b*mmer :(

I am visiting the centre this week to find out what capacity the centre manager will set. As I said before need to confirm who will attend. If you commit you will get in (I will make sure of it)

If there is a lot of interest then I will book other dates

The Centre is very keen to develop and support this, the parcour guys are also interested to meet us so looks really good

There is begining to be interest shown by the local sports partnerships and also the media

May well be able to get BBC radio Lincolnshire/ Look North (or is it Calendar) down to the venue so those of you that can flip can strutt your stuff !!!

oh one more thing the traffic in lincoln can get pretty bad on saturdays to, to many lazy buggers in this town who drive into town even though there a 10 minute walk away.

So the more there is the cheaper it will be... but would depend how big the hall is and how many it can accomodate without it getting crowded.
