BBC meet?
« on: February 26, 2009, 01:49:07 AM »
hey guys!!!

ive been thinking about this for a while and ive spoken to loads of people about this idea too. and i just wanted to see how many people are up for it.

ive written a template e-mail addressed to the BBC saying that a load of us want to help rais money for comic relief and the idea we have come up with is we all dress up like the STIG from top gear. that why those of us ( prolly only me ) that want to keep our identity hidden the helmet will do the job and for the rest of us well your dressed up like the STIG!! that gives you the excuse to act alein and blank people while raising money ON bocks!!!

Here are the list of people that allready agree and if you lot wanna join then ur more than welcome... but i do need to send the e-mail soon as comic relief is in three weeks and if they will help they need to sort out costumes for us.

*EDIT :: im gonna ask the BBC to provide costumes!
i know that a full face helmet and a shaded visor are not exactly the best but.. hey its a once in a lifetime thing and its for charity and if the BBC agree firstly we might get some publicity.

people who say yes

Sounds like your going have some fun.
I think the fact you have to dress as Stig may limit who would come and could make an outfit.

Have you ever tried bocking with a full face helmet on, their both heavy and restricks vision ?
Thought not has heavy has the one we tried on Saturday, which or a real Knights metal helmet which really was heavy with no real vision LOL.

I'm sorry I do think I can make this meet but good luck with the BBC.

Do you know how hot it is to bock in a motorcycle helmet?! Let alone ride on a motorcycle in the bloody thing! lol. I have a helmet but its a silver and black Shark one, not white like the stigs! derrr. Aand im not painting it either as it will cause corrosion and ruin it and im not buying one cos the cheapest/descent one would start from £30. So lets start again for dressing up ideas then! jelly x

objection you honour, relevence?

Kiwi IMO you need to do more foundation work before inviting people to a meet like this.

1. Pretty much everything for comic relief is organised well in advance. 3 weeks is too late notice.
2. Unless you have an insider, there is no way in hell they are gonna provide the cosutmes.
3. Without a risk assessement and PLI I seriously doubt they are going to allow you near anything.

Get the email off today, you dont need a list of people in the email.
I seriously doubt they are even going to reply.
I'd call them up, personally, but then BBC Wales know us quite well.

Send it off, you never know something big might come of it.

Just dont hang around waiting for people to say yes or no.

Has Locky as pionted out it's now very short notice but maybe you could switch this idea to a different event like "Children in Need" instead.
You will still need to address the other pionts but you will have a must longer time to sort them out now.
If nothing comes of it at least you've given it a shot, it's always nice to "Do Something Funny Different" for a meet. :)

Well done for trying Kiwi I hope something comes of it but I will add to the Helmet concern

tundraH did an entire Gym meet dressed as the Stig and he is one really fit and good Bocker by the end of it he was knackered and the visor was misted up the whole time

I ride to london every day rain or shine and the helmets are a real pain (wouldn't be without one though  :Claugh:) so If you are serious about doing it get a cheap helmet and strip as much of the inside of it as you can

Just leave a bit of the polystyrene in to make it comfy and then drill a lot of air holes cause your gonna need them

A lot of us did CiN 2 years ago Carma organized it and it was fun so get planning Kiwi
