Stopped bocking?!
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:14:08 PM »
Hello!
i am new here...
and from Denmark

I really want a pair of bockers, but... i want to know if you have any friends, who bought a pair of bockers, used them one or two times.... and never used them again?

It's just that it is a lot of money to throw ad something you don't know if you like or going to use .... and since i am from Denmark, i don't think there is a lot of people that bocks, so i am a little alone on this one...!?!

p.s a litte question, how long after you first read/heard about bocking, did you get your first pair?

I actually think its a fairly common occurance. You see a lot for sale on ebay. There are probably even more sittinng in garages gathering dust. My theory is that people think it will be easy to do. Bocking is deffo harder than it looks. I think many buy them for the novelty.

Ask yourself what you want from bocking. If you want to acheive stuff and become pretty skilled then it is probably for you. If you want to be doing something different or impress your mates they will probably end up dusty. It takes commitment and if you are bocking alone you will need to be driven. Btw, doing something different and impressing mates is fine but it shoildnt be the main reason :)

i dont know about the other question.

This is just my personal opinion but if you find yourself asking the question, like you have, then it's probably not for you.

There are people on their own and some of them just get on with it and even enjoy bocking on their own but on the whole I dont think most people would.

Thanks, i can see what you mean...and it's not to impress my mates or the lady's ;),  i think that it's awesome, and i really like to could do something like the stunts that can be done on a pair...

I see your point...and thanks for the honesty, but i tried it before, like a sport where you buy all the need stuff... and you play some games.... and it gets to you....this is not me ....!? or that you feel alone, but more the reason to try to assembly some people in Denmark?!

so all in all, i don't have all the money in the world, so i don't just want to rush out and buy something, just for buying it ...

I like to hear more inputs if there are any?

I wasn't sure if I could bock before I bought a pair (not very athletic) but I needed to get fit and I had given up on on lots of other types of exercise

I bit the bullet and just bought a pair (and it was cheaper than gym membership)

That was three years ago and I now own several pairs and bock on average 2 to 3 times a week

I started on my own and it took a year to find someone near me (did go to a few meets though)

If you can afford them get a pair they are loads of fun and once your mates see them they will want a pair
