By the sound of it, Becky is having a blast
Yup!!
Ian and I both trained the girls before the event to make sure they could safely run but the production company decided jumping was too dangerous and too hard to make into a competition. I think they roughly had 2 1/2 days training on them spread over two months, mixed in with all the other sports they were trying to learn at the same time. I think they found bocking more difficult because it required strength, fitness and energy where as most of the others were sports which used equipment that had engines in them and didn't require quite the endurance that bocking does! They all did well considering the limited amount of training they had been given and how scared they were of falling off them on national tv! And the fact that it was the last day and they were all shattered and quite injured!
As Naz said they were worried that the girls would fall over on these and that held a higher risk of injury than the other activities they were doing, which is why it was last. Made for a good show for it to be part of though because the final was likely to attract a bigger audience than any other show - more promo for power bocking!
hey naz are the stilts they used going cheep or up for grabs
The stilts were bought by the production company so you would need to contact them if you were interested in buying them. I think possibly one or two of the celebs would have taken them home with them if they could.
I've just checked the stats on the EPB site and we have gone from 5 hits a day to 50 yesterday, so the publicity worked for us!
