JC a word of advice mate Copper won't last 2 mins as a bearing
The metal ones are normaly Phospher bronze which retains oil and works well as bearing material
I did make a set or two for the earlier models and although they were good they were very expensive to make due to the cost of material and time getting them lapped in right
The material I use now (Glass filled Nylon) is much easier to machine and lasts as long if they are made a good fit
Just thought this info might save you some time experimenting like I did
