I hate these sort of tags that are slapped on things to make them seem fresh and current.
Creative industries has to mean an industry that relies on creative content or products being created.
I don't see how it can mean anything else. The problem is, under those definitions it could be applied to a LOT of industries.
Generally speaking I would say it is anything where design is paramount.

I see filmmaking as a creative industry, however, films can be made without a hint of creativity and yet, something like telecoms, which I don't see as a particularly creative industry, often requires huge amounts of creativity to solve problems ect. I guess that is why I feel it is a bad way to describe anything. Anything can be as creative as an individual makes it, whatever the industry and job.
In a general sense, I imagine that arts, tv, video, radio, web design ect are seen as 'creative industries'.

Yep Spud I have seen a few films that had no creative input at all :Claugh:

@jason i see what you mean looking at general tags fromwebsites/articles media and informative broadcasting (news etc) is considered a creative industry which doesnt make sence to me at all! in fact there are 13 industries and some of them make no sence to me at all and alot of them could be merged!
