Looking around the forum pics of peoples powerizers, i notice a lot of people use the straps that come with the powerizers. You know, the green and red ones.
Ive tried to use them but they always seem to come loose.
??? Is there a way to put them on so they stay tight? ???
Any links to tutorials while youre at it?
Cheers

I think there is no right or wrong way of doing them, just keep experimenting and see whats best for you
-
get yourself some of Pinheads adjustable straps, he's on the other forum.
-
I am going to get my new straps from a snowboarding shop!!! Or just from Decathalon!! ;D
-
Mine have snowboard bindings and they seem to work fine.

I dont think he means the bindings, I am assuming he means the green/red strapping to secure the knee to the knee bar
-
oo so one of those comes with it then ET?
-
I got a pair with mine, I dont know if they still send them out
-
ah cool if they do or dont doesnt matter would be cool tho :)

I think this is what he means (http://www.pro-jump.co.uk/images/parts/nylon%20strap%20-1-A%202.jpg)

ohhhhhhhhh

I used to tie them the same way as you tie a shoelace (after following the threading instructions in the manual ) I never had them come undone but if I did'nt tie them tight enough they lossened and needed to be retied
I now use homemade cuffs so its not a problem now
-
oh, so is there a way you should tie it to keep it secure
-
Yes hard to explain but
Thread the strap behind your knee/calf below the knee bar (half hanging out either side
Next bring the two ends round the front and cross them over each other and the knee bar
Take them round behind your knee above the knee bar
You then bring them round the front one end either side and tie like a shoelace infront of your knee above the knee bar
Easy to show hard to explain
-
thats so easy you explained it well :) well for me to understand anyways donno bout anyone else lol XD ;D thanks
-
You are more than welcome
-
ermm, that kinda makes sense.. ive threaded it.. wrapped it around the steel part of the bar, then taped it back on itself, is that right? that seems to work nicely?
-
If it holds you to the bocks securely it will do for now if your still uncertain on the 19th
(I assume your coming to Capital Bocking )
find me or one of the other old timers (but don't tell ET or Q I called them that ) or Sprog and we'll tie you in so tight you'll need surgery to get them off ;D
-
im afraid im not no, plus my bloody straps keep tearing out on me, now i have to secure them on with leccy tape, they seem to be fine for now so dont worry about the photos :)
one thing i do have problems is withe the strap rubbing against the back of my leg with shorts, you can buy special comfy things to replace the normal thing right? where from though? if you know what i mean? :)
thanks for the help anywho
-
Steve I think you have got the wrong end of the stick
The straps I am talking about are about a meter long and you sort of tie yourself to the bocks with them
the little black straps that are attached to the knee bar are all but useless and I can't imagine how unstable they must feel without the long straps
If you didn't get some with your bocks get some now you won't believe the difference

Here's a picture so you can see what Jason is on about :)

-
yes, i definatly do have the wrong end of the stick haha, no wonder it made absolutely no sense to me. and why maybe i have many cuts and bumps around my body haha.

also where did you get that red thingee around your knees?
It's not me, it's a guy in America called Max. I think they are just sport knee support things :)
-
ohhh, apoligies.. im not quite on the ball.. ever :P
-
Steve did you get a set of the long straps with your PJ's I only ask as I went to put mine on for the first time thought these don't feel very secure
looked in the bottom of the box and thought I wonder what these funny ribbons are for then I read the manual and thought aaah ;D
So don't worry about not noticing them I wonder how many people don't
-
they were 2nd hand ebay type things so nope :)
where do i purchase them from or is there a different, more comfotable alternative?:)
thanks!.
-
Ok Steve
Just go to a decent sewing shop or search on line you want (2 x) 2 meter long lengths of 20mm webbing (wider might be more comfy)
On one e bay shop I have seen 10 meters for about £6 my local shop sells it for about £1-20 to £1-50 a meter but any strong tape will do even a good quality bias binding
There is a guy that sells clip on straps he's called Pinhead don't know how much they are as I now use cuffs if you want real comfort and ease of putting on or removing get sewing I did and I don't regret it see this thread for the tutorial

No offence taken Steve
Someone once said I dress like Indiana Jones on a bad day
I'm into comfort strength and useability so I look on old fasioned as "It's lasted this long must be good"
I do understand the need to look cool but find it to expensive and painful ;D
Having said that I'm over 40 and yes I did once go to sainsburys in a pair of tartan slippers ;D (sad but true )
Hope the straps help
-
haha, i can find going to sainsburys in slippers cool.. ilike the idea of individuality very cool.. so i gues im sorta contridicting what i bleieve in with the whole.. being cool type thing..i think you seem very bauhaus.. they put function infront of form, incase u didnt know.. google it haha..god im so drunk haha..i seem to be spelling ok.. i think im in love with jason , hes like the springbock darth vader or something.. your not my father are you?
-
p.s Indiana Jones is the coolest person ever.. if he had springbocks he'd outrun any boulder, get across any wooden bridge with ease, also he could even work for little italy pizza shop near me, delivery boy.. thats what they should do in the new movie! :)
-
As far as I know I am not your father Steve (but you never know )
Yes Indi is the coolest and I recon best dressed hence my style
Slippers in supermarkets is an age thing one day you will wake up and think what the h*ll they're comfortable and who cares if I look good
Yes Bauhaus does describe me well but I prefer my old riding instructors saying of
"Pretty is as Pretty does" has an old fasioned ring to it ;D
-
haha sounds a bit like forest gump, have you tried bocking in your slippers then haha ?:P
surely that would be a great mix :P :D
-
Yes in my slippers and in my socks ;D
