It's been snowing lightly for an hour and it's just now getting thinker.
I'd say within 2 hours I could make a snowman :Csmile:
I'm on the east coast near " The Wash" hiden by Norfolk !
Anyone got/getting snow today ?

I am 10 miles from yarmouth and Norwich in norfolk and we had some hail at about 8.30 (noisy stuff) and then snow..lasted max on hour and melted pretty quick, its quite mild out there today. I'm gonna go bocking :Cbiggrin:

I've just had an idea open my roof box and fill it so we can all have a snow ball fight on saturday :D

I have already planned whats happened xD. Its going to snow here, at about 4 am lets say, and by the time its deep or w.e it will be 7.30 - rush hour over here. So then it will all be slush and moo. So then it will be such aw bad day i will cry lol :Cwink:

sometime in the last half hour or so since i last looked out a window, it started blizzard-ing
which has sent the entire drunk student population crazy and started a campus-wide snowball fight...though none of them an aim to save their lives, so i casually walked to the shop and back for a laugh, some poeple get really annoyed if you sub-consciously dodge their projectiles

I had a Robin Relaint once their useless in deep snow the front bounces on the snow and they can't turn very well.
But their so light you could pull it home on your own LOL

ditto the lucky sod part, seeing as i live literally 20 seconds from my lecture theateres i highly doubt any are cancelled...but i haven't seen how much snow is out yet, about to scurry down to tesco for some eardrops as i can't hear a thing(bloody snow >.<)

I live about 30 seconds from my lecture theatres, but considering I'm in a field in the middle of nowhere (ask Carl and Locky!) and the lecturers have to drive in, I am hoping mine are cancelled :D

That's the view from my window at the moment, I know it isn't LOADS (it's about 6 inches), but its enough to make the country lanes that my university is on really dangerous.

I've shoveling the snow in my yard with a forklift and pushing in the dike ( and filling it ) it about 8 foot high now should be there for ........ a month :Claugh:

Not got THAT much snow up in northumberland, but we've got enough, hah, all the schools are closed, except the ones that are local, so me and my friends went to gloat to the younger children who had to go to school :P

It's so annoying. Every secondary school in Bradford has been close all day except Hanson... it's like the 3rd biggest school in england, it's on a hill and half the teachers live in Leeds and couldn't get in today, but stupid school was still open. :Cmad:
Got better news as I can go sledging tomorrow as they say its going to be shut (thank you). At least they've finally seen sense... :D
I'm also impressed, as we can't get down the hill because of of the snow, but a 12 wheeled lorry has just reversed all the way up it to the top. Thats some skillage.

We're all snowed in at uni though, we pay for accomadation with food, but there are no canteen staff in and no deliveries of food either. Gonna have to survive on cartons of soup and supernoodles for a few days! ;D

guildford has about twice jasons in places, mostly about a foot high or whatever, and all the paths are all compacted and ice, roads are slush now. completely sealed in from the outside world, luckily tesco is staying open else we'd all be starving aswell

yep, perfect for going ot the pub, having a beer or 5+snowball fight then making loads of snow angels all over the pristine parts of the snow
so satisfying to ruin the little patches of flat snow

I made a 10ft Snowman today! ^_^
We had loads of snow yesterday but it wasn't the right kind for building -
it didn't stick well. So we went sledging. But today the snow was perfect
for building a Snowman. I love it! I'll be quite sad when the snow melts. =(

Sorry you don't get much snow. It sucks when that happens. I used to live in Germany so I was quite disappointed when I saw how much snow we get here. It doesn't last long enough. =(

don't be so sure, sever weather warnings and maybe up to about 50cm of snow tomorrow, though i tprobably won't settle as it's been raining, still metre high piles of ice lying around the campus where it's been shovelled/swept to, paths are all horribly slippery with ice and slush all over

It stopped snowing here at about 4am.
It's cold so back roads are a little tricky but I'll say people comeing to Lincoln be careful setting out and remember how long it took you getting there and the weather near you on the way back.

honestly i think the Uk needs to carry on with it....look at a lot of countries who can have snow nearly all year round....they dont stop working because theres 20ft of snow above their head...but here in the Uk we get 2 snow flakes and the whole of the Uk is put in stop mode.
this has probably been said about 10 times on the forums but a well it can be told once more :Ctongue:

When I went bocking I thought I needed a hoody but after 2 mins jumping I had to take it off..was too hot. I am meant to be training for a half marathon at the mo (not on bocks) but everytime I think about it I chuck my bocks on instead..doh!

haha well DK is furthur north than me and this morning we had couple of inches of snow ( and the kind that turns to ice when you step on it :D I had some good fun sliding to the station, witha good run up I was going about 15 metres woop :D Train got canceled woop and I stopped my sliding home to push a car out of the road that somebody stalled and slid out of their driveway...its melted now but was pretty fun :D
Oh and we have sleet now :) I am sure it will be ok for norwich :)

heh well hopefully the government have realised that they need more salt for the roads incase, so next lot shouldn't be too bad, except for bocking that is, forecast here says maybe snow/sleet tonight, and then bright sunshine till monday, doesn't say after that
