Well I'm an ambitious so-and-so and in the future I'd love to be able to do back and front flips on bocks - however after my first outing today I just cannot imagine having the confidence or conquering utter terror, to do it! So I thought a good way to build confidence, learn how to and also perfect a good technique, would be to learn them on a trampoline first.
So I did some Googling and found:
http://www.myspace.com/ueatrampolining (http://www.myspace.com/ueatrampolining)
Which is handy cos it's at my workplace ;D ;D I'm gonna message them and see how much classes are - anyone else interested?
-
I would be so interested. I wanted to do it as a GCSE, then the qualified teacher left so yes. I am well up for it. Do you think me being under 18 will be a prob tho?
-
I don't think there's an age limit at all, and you're not exactly a toddler :P THey seem quite friendly from what the site says:
Hi from all of us at UEA Trampolining Club! We're a fun and friendly club, dedicated to bouncing and having a lot of fun! We hold regular training sessions every Monday and Thursday from 5pm-7pm on courts 3 and 4 of the Barclays arena in the SportsPark (that's the main hall, first door). We welcome all newcomers to trampolining, whether you've bounced before or are a complete beginner, if you want to learn new moves, perfect old ones or just have a fun jump around. Our chilled out training sessions are presided over by trained coaches who will be on hand to help whenever you need them. We enter different competitions in and around the UK and any member of our club can enter any competion at any level if they want. Bouncing champs have won us medals in many past competitions including those held in Manchester, York, Surrey and the highlight of our year; Dublin! (or Cork!). We don't just get together for trampolining either, we have a regular social night as well as other special events organised by our specialised social sec. These include clubbing and pubbing, bowling, iceskating, meals out, cinema trips and legendary competition after-parties!

-
Right it was their club night tonite so I went along to the Sportspark, they were setting up two big trampolines and there weren't that many there but it was early on.....I spoke to one of the girls and she said it was £10 to join initially, then you pay per lesson. She said we'd have to learn the basics and fundemantals before even doing flips etc, which is fair enough and safer methinks - but...and this is the bugger....she wasn't sure if it was for UEA staff and students ONLY :( She said she'd check and get back to me. So fingers crossed they will let non-UEA people in!!!!
-
I hope they will let others in!!!!

Heard back from her:
Hi, thanks for your message. We're still trying to find out. It's a bit complicated because of all the insurance issues. Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you I'm on placement in Peterborough during the week and have no access to emials there! That's why it's taking some time to find out.
Nicki
So I await further news.....looks like UEA staff or students are covered but non-UEA aren't maybe? Noooooooooo! :banghead:
-
You mihg tbe fine if you get sports membership, You don't have to be a student or staff to use the facilities. So people will probably have to pay the £30 insurance like i have??
-
spoke to a friend today, said they saw 2 people bocking around at the UEA, any ideas who they were???
-
Prob Rich and Dan who I was meant to meet up with

Its not very nice to stand people up, lol But I do admit it is great fun to go out bocking on a regular basis, lol

They didn't stand me up they both had nasty falls and Dan knackered his fone so couldn't answer my texts ;)
