Title: Expert advice needed!?!
Post by: Corker on November 10, 2006, 10:35:05 AM
Hi, I'm looking to buy some powerizers for a present for someone at christmas. I was just wondering what type are best as I've seen a few models (powerizers, power jumpers, jumping stilits, pogo shoes, flyjump). There's a slight difference in price but is there an actual difference in the quality? I need them for a 21 year old who's approx 12 stone, so do I go for the M70 (slightly below his weight) or the M80 (slightly above his weight)?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You wont go wrong ordering from projump.co.uk
The different brands/models are either all exactly the same or some have slightly different straps or something. projumps and powerisers (sold on various boys toys sites) are identical. The rumour is that they are cheaper from this site because they buy them in bigger bulk. I dont know if thats true but I know they are £50 cheaper for what is the same product with different brands on the label.

DO NOT buy a pair under the users weight. Always go for a heavier weight model. The reason is, as you get more and more experienced with these things, you tend to bounce harder and higher and there are stories of people 'bottom-ing out' the springs - basically means the springs are bending so far that the users feet hit the ground. It's not worth it.  There are even reports of some people being a full stone under the weight limit and still bottoming out. Always go heavier.

Not at 5 stone, also you may find the knee bar doesnt go down enough for your small legs.

Eat some pies!

the lowest size adult pro-jumps are for 9.5 stone, so i guess you could, you need to measure your leg so you can see if the knee bar will adjust that much. but if you do get the adult ones, you can use them as you gain weight and size, which will be a bonus. if you put the length from your foot to your knee il gladly see if you can adjust the knee bar enough. Having your dad use them will be a good idea and you got to teach him how to use them, which would be funny.

I got some adult ones for my little brother he weighs just over 5 stones but after a few weeks he was fine on them. I would recommend going for the adult ones as you will grow out of the kids ones fairly soon.

well for a start pro jumps are like 50£ cheaper, and also it would be rude to ask advice on which powerisers to buy whilst using the "pro jump" forum lol. but seriously pro jumps are soooooooooooooo much cheaper!!!

power to the pro jumps!!!

I think you'll find some people argue with you on projumps being cheaper as the image of them being fragile and needing replacement parts is pretty widespread. Although having said this many people are very happy with them.

I have had no problems with my Pro Jumps what so ever, they will keep going, till a part needs to be replaced, and they are cheaper from pro jump, than anywhere else on the internet!!
