Just a thought at the moment so I am asking for some feedback
Venue : Lincoln Castle
Date :summer 2008 or 2009
Event 1 day Extreme Sports Extravaganza
Areas for Bocking, Parcour and Skateboarding/BMX
Would look to provide facilities for all abilities to come & participate, interspersed with try it time for the spectators and specialist exhibitions. For Bockers we could have crash mat & jumping, tumbling areas etc like I have planned for the training day. Could alos have running events down the centre of the area.
Probably get upwards of 1,000 spectators attending over a day.
Ideas and thoughts please

Sounds like a really good idea, i like the name (Extreme Sports Extravaganza).
Also its kewl how its not juzt going to be bockers.
akin..

There is one on the Io W as well 'Wight Extreme. Gets a mention in the 'frestivals' thread
-
I might be able to make the event at Lincoln Castle, will have to travel from essex, unless I have moved to norwich by then, lol
-
The castle sound nice but the area just outside is cover with big cobbles stone :-\
A good out side event could be a race up one of the hills bocking up hills not isn't as hard as you'd think :o
-
where is Lincoln Castle it sounds pritty gd
fae callum
-
Lincoln castle is in Lincoln City, Lincolnshire, England
see http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/section.asp?sectiontype=listmixed&catid=7014
DK The inner area of the castle forms areally good area for both events (flat but grassy) and the banks allow spectators to gather and have a good view. The central walkway through the middle can be a spectator walk way or a place where races etc could take place as its flat tarnmac (I think11)
-
I think the 'inner area' is the 'bailey'
-
I see that they have a longbow tournament on in september, might have to try and take part . . . . . .
-
Longbow, I may have to see if I can enter too!!
-
Now I understand the term Mott and Bailey, thought Mott was his GF
-
What sort do you shoot Sx?
-
I'm there :)
-
120lb wooden recurve bow, mainly field targets, and up hill
-
120lb! :o :o :o wow! thats heavy, bet you dont hold it for too long!
-
I want to fire it in under a minute, or I will feel it, 120lb is the string tension weight
-
I know its the weight, I shoot 45lb Longbows for re-enactments and field shoots, have you ever done a field shoot at Peris?? just outside Braintree??
-
yep, i have shot there, lol
-
Are you going this weekend?
-
nope at norwich, and living in leicester atm while at uni
-
Ah, a fair excuse! lol!
-
I need a new bow anyway
-
Did someone mention Longbows don't leave me out I used to make my own and that is some weight you pull there Sx
I had a 90lb LB for a while but snapped the lower limb trying to lighten it (made my arms ache) so I made up a Hickory LB 65lb at 31" tend to find I'm more acurate at that weight
Last count for bows 65lb LB, 65lb Flatbow (N American indian design), Hunter takedown recurve, light hunter style recurve, Ash LB, Barnet compound and a Barnet comando Xbow all except 2 homemade
Also do my own fletching (had to to get the longer arrows costs to much for customs)
As you might have guessed I live not far from Quicks Archery so it was like a sweet shop for me (the wife used to dread a visit )
So why don't we start a Bocking Archery Club  (could get dangerous :haha:)

Knowing you I bet you've shot your self in the foot even with a long bow :D
I was reading on a website about stupid ways to kill your self.
An archer got such a low score in a competitions that in anger his fired his last arrow into a brick wall. The arrow shattered and the tip bounced back and hit him in the neck :o
-
What an idiot!! Ive only got the two bows, both English Longbows, one 35lb and one 45lb never needed to use a higher poundage, I dont like shooting other bows as all I have ever loosed is a Longbow, my shooting style is all wrong, I shoot field, even when going at targets.
I have done it on Bocks before, at a display day on camp, I had 3 arrows, fist one missed by miles, second just missed, and the third was in the RED!! :tape:  It was so unsafe I havent done it since, as standing still for any period is impossible, and so is aiming on the move!
-
I'd like to try a crossbow on bocks :)
Or should that be a Bat-a-bow that fires Bat-bolts :Dark_Knight:
-
When I get a new bow, we could go for a shot down a field, going to get a lighter bow, to make myself have some more control, may get a 80lb, will have to see how it feels in store!!
