hey guys some of you have seen the pictures Ive put up in the gallery of my new spring covers i got the mod idea from BockModz and it looks and works awesome!! if you need info on how to get them go on the BockModz website i cant remember the address sorry
But a tip when get to the metal around the inner part of the tyre u cannot brake it with a hacksaw u have to use either a very sharp pair of pliers or a very strong and sharp chisel on a hard surface to get the wire out i found the best and easyest way is to get a sharp knife and cut down were the metal is through the rubber then just pull on the wire with a pair of pliers  it probably says all this on the BockModz website but everyone goes on the projump forum so its easyer to see
Cheers for reading all tht btw
(For nero) BANANA DANCE

I used cable ties to keep it on and put hole through it using a VERY hot nail

cheers mate and they work awsome also because its rubber it strethes so there no worries about it braking
also if u all over and ur spring hits the floor its fine but i wouldnt recomend trying it out
-
Rubber is great at absorbing impact, lol
-
yeah mine are kicking ass, a few knocks when i was out on em but not one split in the tyre.
and it just looks so cool.
-
its such a great idea. proberly the coolest of ist type yet and You could spray pant the tire before you put it on probs
-
The ultimate would be to use Sweetskinz tires.
They come in a variety of patterns/colors and they are even reflective.
Your local bike shop should be able to get them. ;D
-
they are mental, lol
-
yes they are
-
yeah they are pretty cool, i wonder how ive never come across them before?
they have night views on their site also, i think i might be after a pair of rattlebacks if i can someone in the uk that sells em
http://www.sweetskinz.com/html/home.htm
anyway one for the girlie girls is the halo twin rail in pink..
buy those here.....http://tinyurl.com/ysebs9 (http://tinyurl.com/ysebs9)
oh they also come in green, i have those on one of my bikes look..
lookin for that image i found these which would be pretty cool
buy here http://tinyurl.com/yw4wvn
(http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/Full/16883.jpg)
but having done the mod myself and obliterating one tyre (youll only need one by the way) i am convinced that the easiest/quickest route is foldable tyres
(http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/Full/12537.jpg)
as there is no wire to cut out, you can concentrate on doing a stellar job

Some of these tyres look awesome

Insane!!! I so want to do that to my springs. The tires aren't too expensive either. I so want the scorch ones!!!!
-
I like mine the way that they are atm, but will deal with them in the summer!!
-
I want these tires on my bocks and bike. so cool

I was in Poundland today and noticed car mats £1 for the pair.
There not very thick but could be cut in to a strip to fit the spring.
Would take two bits per spring and could be stuck on with tape.
For a £1 it could be an idea for covers. :)

what like under tape for extra protection.

It's a lot cheaper than a tire, which could be used on the hoof

very good idea DK..what glue the rubber on?
-
very good idea DK..what glue the rubber on?
Double sided tape would hold it on spring but a single layer of tape over would be better.

Car mats can work, but you have to be picky about the type you get.
I've found that most don't work with the tie-up method (not enough tensile strength), and I'd rather not use tape if possible.
But, for extra protection under a layer of tape, they should absorb impact quite well.

Coo. I think i would do that at some point and maybe use them as tire socks some how to. Even if they dont last long they would be really east and cheap to change.

I'm thinking of using them as base for nail hoofs ( Spikies ), but old wore tire would work maybe just as well :-\

I have never had a problem will grip on grass, wet grass or snowy grass. The only places I have had problem with grip was on the show on the pavements and walking down that big slope in wind and rain for sport releif mile. And they are pretty extreme cases.

-
WOOO i helped him make these :D
Wel.... when i say helped i meant stood back and watched and almost puked with the smell you was making (with burning holes in the ruber)
-
That's why some of us use a hole-punch tool instead ;)
-
yeah hole punch for the win!!!
so ive made another couple of sets of these and was wondering if anyone was interested in buying a pair, they are not for sale just yet as im waiting for the eyelet tool to arrive, as im gonna use 5mm eyelets to reinforce the holes.
these are all brand new tyres also, not skidded out secnd hand things
like i said its just a thought at the minute, each pair takes around 2hours to cut and then punch the holes and i have blind stag (no eyed dear ) how long the eyelets will take to put in.
initial thoughts are £10 posted for the pair, your thoughts please.
-
I would buy them for a tenner..no doubts
