Title: Lincoln TV Event 19th April
Post by: Charlie B on March 05, 2008, 01:58:41 PM
Following the recent Lincoln Indoor meeting

Both BBC Look North & BBC East Midlands want to feature Bocking on future News programs.

I have negotiated the use of the North Hykeham Leisure Centre for a whole day on the 19th April from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm for a nominal charge.

Obviously I need a reasonable turn out of bockers of all abilities to attend to showcase the sport.

Please register your interest by sending me a personal message with your e mail address & phone contact number

This is open to all bockers using any brand of power stilt

As it is all day numbers should not be an issue.

Depending on sewing workload I may be interested, I can fit two people in my car and we can share petrol.  I'm away all that following weekend so I need to make sure about my workload and stock levels first!

Wow that's one hell of a session!

I've wanted to go to gym sessions but taking the day off work for a couple of hours wasn't do able.

As this is a whole day I'd love to come for this, I will try to arrange something and pm you my details once I know for sure.

Regardless if I can make it or not, must say you are putting alot of effort into the sport so well done.

Lookin promising, others also interested, group from Grimsby may come down

BBC East Mids are interested as a direct result of the Radio Interviews I have done recently about bocking. They pick them up from the BBC Web.

I would not have been able to get the coverage without the support of colleagues within my Company the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership

Lincolnshire sits within both North Eastern (look North) and the the East Mids coverage with the south west being BBC East Mids. So coverage from both is good.

Very pleased that both have taken interest in the sport, we now need to give them something to put out.

Still negotiating on cost, trying to get it for free.

I have got the full day with the hope that the TV guys turn up, still awaiting confirmation from look North, My company has a good relationship with look North so this should not be an issue. East Mids have pulled out due to new ways of working as they now consider Lincoln to not be worth the effort.

Also talking to Lincs FM and radio Lincolnshire again to see if they will attend.

Currently 12 guys coming down from Grimsby plus Stevie and a few from B-Bounce so looking at least 20. Another 8/10 have committed to attend but not confirmed.

Total cost normally is £120 + VAT. However I will not be the charged going rate. Suggest you bring a £5.00 just in case.

Possible obstacle course (need to make sure equipment is there first)

Just to clear a copuple of things up

1) Tyre socks are not mandatory as we can protect the floor in other ways, but if you have them on your bocks please keep them on.

2) Protective Gear
If you are over 18 you can make your own choice and accept the risks as long as you sign my form that protects me from losing my house in a court case !!!!

If you are under 18 (a minor) you are my resposibility, please bring your protective gear or you will be asked to use kit on site.

There will be some form of cushioning in certain areas where protective clothing may be optional, but if we are playing games on a hard surface you will need gear (or not play)

Also if you are U18 please can you PM your e mail address as I need to send you a concent for for your parents to complete before you attend.

Cost me that to get Norwich ?
12:30 late but it's all day (3'o'clock) ?
And we could nip into Lincoln afterwards ( you could get late train home ? ).

Just a short and for me very dissapointing note

Due to other commitments particularly around the football relegation/promotion race both east mids and look North have now pulled out of attending the event.

Hopefully those of you who have agreed to attend will still be coming for the event rather than the TV exposure.

I am aware that these things happen and that if it had been a slow news day both would probably have attended. Still leaves me feeling low.

I've got a small video camera which can be mounted on a helmet ( would love some one to wear it when doing flips ).
I've got it mounted on a long pole which you can hold and I'll do some video of me own bocks walking, running and bouncing.

Quick guess from Lincoln would be one heading to Newark as it passes through there if not stop outside the place

Wish I could give up a left but I'm pushing my luck with the car to get there and back I couldn't risk the extra gearing ( clutch slips ).
