Hi, Im thinking of buying some projumps but im just wondering wether the £135 adults ones are springy enough to do flips and stuff?
could someone help me out please?
Cheers.
-
Also just to add i am national gymnastic champion in great britain in my age group (which is 15-17) im 15 =]
and im just wondering hopw hard it would be for me to do flips on pj's, i can do back tuks and full twists on grass and i have a lot of trampolining skill like doing double fronts and double full twists and stuff
just wanted some opinions on how long it would take me to learn flips and jump really high lol?
cheers.

If you get the right weight ... yes !?
You can modify your old post ??
-
With your level of skill, yes, provided you get the right weight range.
Just because they are £135 doesn't mean they are "less springy" than other brands.
-
ok thanks, i just weighed myself lol and i weigh 64.5 kg
what weight range do you suggest? 70 kg or 80 kg?
cheers.l
-
Id say go for the 80s's, but with your gymnastics background I think 90's would be better in the long run.
-
Agreed with Naz (Webmaster), with your background M90s would suit you best. Will take a while to get used to them and break into them, but once you've done that you'll be flying :)
-
Also where abouts are you from, there may be people or a group local to you?
-
thanks everyone for your comments, i think i will get the 80's because i can grow into them and get someone heavier like my mate to break them in for me.
And one last question, the brand powerisers have the new 2008 stilts out and the are £200 are they actually worth the extra 65 quid? what do you get out of them that is better than these pro jumpers?
cheers.
-
Improved bindings and calf cuffs, that's about it, the spring performance is very similar.
Some people love the cuffs, others hate them. I use cuffs with my 7's and could never go back to kneebars now :)

I think the Pro-Jump spring performance is better than the current poweriSer spring :P ;D
-
ok thanks dude
what does everyone else think, knee bars or cuffs?

Yeah but you're gonna say that aren't ya? :P
-
lol yeh he kinda has to say that lol :D
seriously though what do people think, calf cuffs or knee bar, and powerises for springyness or pro-jumps for springyness?
pleaase srious answers only, no bias stuff lol :)
-
7leagues all the way ;D
-
Sprog knows I won't make claims unless I have it on good authority :) (I hope!)
Joking aside...
The cuff is a personal perference, I know the majority who have tried this prefer them to the knee bars, I've only heard of a couple of people who have tried it and disliked it.
The spring on the Pro-Jump is much more responsive than that on the poweriSer, the current poweriSer spring is said to be far too stiff and doesn't retain the energy as well as the current Pro-Jump Springs.
You may want to read the following topics where theres more discussion between the brands...

I havn't tried out the projump springs recently but i tried out some powerisers when i was up visiting the WB's in Cardiff and hated them. You had to put sooooo much effort in and didnt get that much return.
-
see thats the problem i want a pair of stilts that have a calf strap and that are really springy and responsive..
basically a mix of powerises and pro jumps, can anyone find me a pair like this lol?
cheers.
-
At the moment the cuffs are not sold separately so you would have to buy the poweriSer to get the cuffs.
Then you could either buy Pro-Jump springs @ £75 for a pair or 7 springs which I think are about £130 a pair or powerskip springs which would be about £250 for the pair!

Not at the moment, no, sorry. PoweriSer distributors in the UK won't sell the cuffs as a spare part and mainland Europe distributors won't ship to the UK because of "Patent laws". I had to go the backdoor route and have someone in Austria buy me some and then ship them onto me, but it was a one-off offer in March last year.
-
right i have made a decision, im going to either get the 7's t-rex ones (70-90kg) or the powerises (70-90kg)
Which one do you think is better if money wasnt an issue? Theres on £40 between them anyway?
much appreicated.
edit: Things to keep in mind
most springy = 7's or powerises?
longest lasting = 7's or powerises?
most comfortable = 7's or powerises
and anythign else you think i should include those are th eonly 3 i could think of lol?
help please.
-
7's springs are better (better bounce back and energy return) and you can get the PoweriSer bindings on them for about £15 extra, just no cuffs. The 7's hooves also last longer, and they have a nicer centre of balance (IMO)
-
7's for sure.
Powerisers as well as a poor spring have had frame issues latley aswell
-
Wouldnt go for powerisers. But yes to either 7's or projumps. If you are going to get any with your background I would say get 90's not 80's.
-
I lent a few people a set of PJ's with my homemade cuffs yesterday at the gym meet and I think everyone who tried prefered them and that was about 6 people so I would say cuffs all the way
Jason :Hoofies2:
-
I absolutely love that paricular set of PJ's!
;D
And yes, Cuffies rule!
-
I think you might be a Skip Wh*re now Opal :haha:
They were popular wern't they I had some good offers for them (unprintable ones )
Start saving up :haha:

So how does one go about making these mysterious "Cuffies" then Reaper? I hate my knee bars....Done the "Dog collar" mod and it's better, but I still have to nearly cut off the circulation to my lower legs to have any kind of control over my stilts...Care to enlighten me or is it a secret?
-
Yeah the cuffies rule, Easier on the legs whilst affording you more control!
There is a thread on here for how to make them, however, a search for 'Cuffies' didn't bring anything up, can anyone enlighten us?
-
Just wanted to reassure you System, that going for the 90's is the right choice. I'm only an amateur at gymnastics, yet after 6 goes on my 90kg ProJumps I'm already bottoming out (I weigh 65kg). So with your background you'll definitely want heavy springs! :)
Personally I hate the knee bar. So I just moded my Pro-Jumps. :)
