Title: What Paint for springs?
Post by: LeytonInTheNet on August 08, 2008, 04:27:17 PM
Does anyone know what kind of paint I should use for my Pro Jump Springs?
Or, is there anything else I could use to colour my springs?

you can wrap electrical tape round them to protect them and you can make them look good

or you could get some fluffy covers for them ask around some ppl will make some for you

or you could make your own

Thanks Jack!  ;D
If I put electrical tape over the springs, can I paint on the tape?
And also, will it affect the bounciness of the spring?

prob with paint is u would need to find some that 'flexes'  otherwise it will just flake away with every bounce ---id imagine.

Thre is a video of me doing that somewheres btw

yehh painting the tape might not work so good, you'd need to find paint that would stick to the tape well too and it would prob just flake off like he said

you can do cool patterns with tape tho

put a layer or two of duct tape length ways down your springs then to neat'n them up abit as duct tape doesnt look that great spiral round some insulation tape you can get pretty much everycolour of it and can make patterns etc dependin how creative you are if your going to use a light insulation tape use white duct tape

if your going to actually paint he spring youl need a high latex content paint. this will give it the flex that is needed.

aidan, nice idea with the tyre/paint combo but having a tyre wrapped round hte bock might not be everyones cuppa... :( it certainly isnt mine but them im a fussy f**ker :)

but if were all being honest.... Electrical TAPE FTW!!!

keep it simple i say :D....

Thx everyone!!!

I'm gonna use electrical tape, and I'll post a pic when I'm finished.

I'm modding my helm to the same pattern as my Pro Jumps will be.
Here's a preview of the helm, badly drawn in paint.  :P
