How do you guys start running cos i kinda jog on the spot the stick one leg out and start running but its annoying any other ideas. :banana:

I found the easiest way to start running was to start off slowly.
I started walking all over again, trying to get my feet pointing as forward as possible (so I didnt bang the springs or knee-bars) and took little steps, taking my knees up high each time.
I gradually took bigger, longer steps and quickened the pace.
Remember to use the heels of your feet and not the balls of your feet, its a little wierd at first but it helps so much. So when you place your foot down from a step, use your heel, the spring will absorb the impact (which is what its ment to do) and youll be running and bounding in no time.
Just take it slowly first, hope this helps.

Best way to start running: Heard over to ur local pikey camp , put on ur bocks ,stand up , shout as much abuse as possible eg. Gypo , Scum bag .. Various others... Wait 5 seconds... RUN ! and there you have it , your running :nana:

i found the best way to start off runign was to bounce of my left foot hard as i can then bounce on to right and start it off give u like a instant speed i can run very fast on my bocks as i ent a tricker im just a runner :biggrin:

The annoying thing is sometimes i cantch my right foota lil late and nearly caused a snapped leg or thats what it felt like

The thing about running is, it's more like jogging than normal running.
If you can jog on your stilts just lean forward a bit you'll feel like your going to fall over, to stop falling stamp your foot down harder. You'll find yourself jogging faster to the point you'll be running :thumbs:
Once you can run you can do a cartoon start ???
You've seen how cartoon start to run they turn at 45 degrees to the way you're going to run then twist and stamp you back leg infront follow this with the other leg . That first stamp will give you big kick when you start ( Don't forget the arms ) :laugh:

All kidding aside I just do exactly the same as I do on my feet just lean forward and start running or make the walk faster untill I'm jogging

ROFL!!!! i do that without power stilts. trust me it helps if one of them has a bat or something.

Well I've only had my bocks for 1 day, and I'm already running in them. Here's what I found works for me:
1. Jump and land on your least dominant foot (in my case, the left). This should make you "hop" slightly. Land on your dominant foot and push off, but this time you're going to swing your left foot out in front of you and lean forward.
2. Once you've landed on your other foot, put all your weight onto it and swing out the right foot. Use your HEEL, not the frontal ball of your foot (toe area). The more weight you put into a single leg, the bigger the jump will be and the long the strides.
Now, I found that to stop running I generally start "tapping" the bocks quickly in succession while leaning slightly backwards to counteract the forward movement.
Always make sure to use a flat surface or slightly downward tilted hill (no more than 5, 10 degrees?). Don't try uphill until you get used to averything else, you'll trip because your legs aren't used to the heavy weight and thus they drag.
