is it just me or has the karma thing just happened or has it been there all the time

i stopped at the lolly pop lady this morning will this help me to get points LOL

ive seen "my name is Earl"      can i be Randy ( thats a characture not a statement )

can any one help  ???

You do have them but you cant give urself karma.
It would be nice to have some mention of it but its basically like a rating system.

I have no idea why now all of a sudden its been enabled but I'm sure dan or someone will let us know in time.
I've not ever had the need to use it but basically if someone gets so many smite votes then they cannot post for a while. Kinda like a 'people moderation' when a particular person is being a right moron. But I dont think we've really had that here.

I have posted the karma thing as a "news" item (basically the text that appears across the top of the screen)

I thought it would be nice for you guys to be able to rate each other on your posts, i wouldnt have like the smite thing to be there but the software won't allow me it without. If the general consensus is that you dont like it then it will be removed, its really just a trial to see if it works.

Please PM me if you wouldn't like the karma system in place

I've had the Karma thing on other forums. Someone worked out how ti "reveal" who rated/hated and that opened a right can of worms.

Granted I had a 121 Love rating but it was still nasty. Also, from a Mods POV, it starts "I rated you"..."oh thanks, I rated you too" convos.

I'm not a fan oif it.

Well it was really just an experiment to see if you guys liked it, it is used on a few other forums, most of them just use the positive karma but as i mentioned earlier the software wont allow it without the "smite" aswell. I will give it another few days but it looks like it  couldve been a bad idea lol

Ok I have removed the karma now, I thought it may have been a good idea, but Its not really needed etc etc so now its gone, and we can carry on as if nothing ever happened  ;D
