How much tape, on average, do you need to get a good protective layer on your springs? I've had a look around but can't find anything on it :)
Oh, and as a bonus, neon green or electric blue? :D
-
get some like dish towels and wrap them round then put 1 layer of tape over them  works a treat
-
tape is so low grade protection get ur self a 20+ inch mountian bike tyre cut it in half holes threw the backs and BAM instant rubber protection lests for ever when u need new springs just intie simple quick easy effective BISH BASH BOSH
www.probock.co.uk go to mods i made it so its easy to read ;)

tires r expensive tho

Gaffa tape works well as an under coat, electrical tape works best for decoration.
-
Tape is cheap quick to refresh and about 4 layers should do more wouldn't hurt.
It will not help with a big impact but would stop damage from most knocks.
If you plan to cover your spring DON'T remove the covering on in but cover over it.
-
I'm on a low budget so it will have to be tape methinks :)
How many rolls would you recommend? I don't want to be cut short but I also can't afford to buy rolls that won't be used :S
Is it an amiable idea to tape the frames as well at some point, to match the colour scheme?
-
I buy a large £2 cheap roll of tape and I also use is on the hoofs and it last a long time.
The first tape you tape use a lot and then you need only replace small amounts which get scuffed up.
Tape the frame, hardly worth it but maybe a nice MOD !

Reckon one roll would be enough for both springs and knee hoops, and possibly bindings?
-
I got my tape from a local hardware shop. I got a couple of rolls and it covered my springs and knee hoops. They were only 35p each and because they were small and cheap I could get a couple of colours
-
35p?! Which hardware store is that!?!
What colours did they have, just to get an idea? :)
-
erm, a little one in acle (a little little town near me) and the other was thorns in Norwich.
They had red, blue, green, black, grey, white, yellow and green stripy and some more too I think. You could buy them in bigger rolls but I got a few different coloured little ones
-
Go to B&Q. 6 pack of electrical tape will cost you about £3 and you'll need about 1 roll per spring. Then you have 4 left for when you need to replace it ;)
-
Sounds good :D I wish I had one of those fab little local shops that sell absolutely everything for really cheap xD Sucks living in the middle of nowhere. I want to tape my springs so they're black and green stripey, so I think I'll just get some cheap black stuff for now and order some nicer green stuff for stripes after xmas with present money :)
Thanks everyone :D

What's up with black.
