Title: My first bocks have arrived! (let me know what you think, and help me out! )
Post by: Foote on December 16, 2008, 07:58:39 AM
Ok, I got my first bocks today.  I can't actually bounce on em till christmas..but I got to look at em and take some pics to show you guys and make sure everything is ok...  Here is some pics..I took a lot of the bindings; because I have some questions about them.    What I ordered is Poweriser PR90120s from DCPowerstilts.com

PICS:

Here are the stilts (pair):

Here is an up close of the bindings (strapped):

here they are strapped to my feet:

and here is the bindings unstrapped:

HERE is the bindings Strapped, very close up:

My first question is about the straps/bindings...I tried them on...and it looks like these bindings are "quick release"  isn't that supposed to be an upgrade? o.0

My second question is...are these puppies gonna do me good, as a noobie? And did I get a good deal for $320 USD shipped? Considering I live in USA?

Thanks for inputs :)

Ya, I thought they were..looking at the Poweriser Advanced model (the black and grey one) it looks like the bindings from it.  Which makes me happy!

Thanks for the help.  I sometimes need reassurance I got a good buy.

The only thing I'm concerned about is my weight (185 lbs / 84 kg) being too low for em.  They felt like beasts when I strapped up.

The weight is right for you, we always say get at least 10kg over your weight, any less and you would be mazing the spring out very soon and they would wear faster. They are right for you ;)

Trust that

Ha!  You were right.

I opened em today and bocked around.  The knee bar is seriously annoying; the first thing I'm getting is that calf-cuff upgrade. Oh, and the foot bindings are perfect.  I just hate the knee bar.

Agree knee bar should fit snug on the shin below the knee. Wit pads the whole thing should be tight so you will not notice the bar

You can secure them better with webbing too

hi , and welcome to the sport .

calf cuffs  might not always be the answer, as i got some to see what the fuss was about and just could'nt get on with them .

also by the picy , you might benifit from swoping your stilts over , so that the buckles are on the outside,so as not to catch them on each other.

have fun .

Some people love Cuffs and others don't

I couldn't get on with the knee bar even with pads and extra padding (it always rubbed after an hour or so)

But with cuffs I can bock all day and not get uncomfortable

The thing about a knee bar is it's solid and if you can hold your lef tight to it you'd have no problems, cuff's and be pull tight.
I love my normal size knee bar, fits nice and snug I don't even need to tie the strap on the back.
