Title: Series of Easter Holidays Kingston Meetups(2 weeks of fun!)
Post by: Biohazard on April 05, 2009, 06:44:14 PM
Its the easter holidays and i want to get bocking in Kingston(since its so awesome).

On this meetup were going to try to explore a bit more of Kingston instead of sticking around the Bentall Center.
I'm hoping most Surrey Springer members will join and perhaps a few others.
I would like to know what days would be best for you guys, i'm free for the next 2 weeks.

The Route:
- Gather at Kingston Train Station and wait for everyone to arrive.
- Head towards the Bentall Center going down Clarance street.
-Stay at the Bentall Center and Perform to the crowd!
-Head towards the Marketplace.
-Explore while sticking in a group.
-Go back to the Bentall Center area and head to the Mange Tout.
-Eat at the Mange Tout, paninis/wraps where are under £3(cheapest £2) and are buy one get one free, so you could split the money with someone and pay £1-£1.50 to get some lovely food.
-Go to the Bentall Center area and top up on sugar/drinks.
-Bock around the Bentall Center area and the Marketplace since its the best area in Kingston for bocking.
-Explore the area near the Bentall center and Marketplace.
-Bock at Old London road.
-Discuss what to do next(you decide!)
-Have fun!

Hopefully each meet-up will last 4 hours+.
We will probably start at 12:00-100 and end at 5:00 or longer if theres people still wanting to bock!

I think we should aim to do 2 meetup's in the space of the next 2 weeks, each meetup will be on Friday or another more preferable date.

Sorry for my terrible spelling/grammar but I'm busy and don't have time to make this like an essay.

So who wants to participate in the 2 weeks of fun!?

Do you fancy doing one on the Saturday as Clive and I can only get away on the Saturday

Having said that is Kingston to busy on a Saturday if so any other options

Only reason why i wasn't going to do it on saturday is because it is pretty busy, but i could probably change it to that.
We did have a meet up on a busy Sunday and it was fine as everyone cleared a space for you and there are some good, non-busy places to bock.

Clives gym/hall!!

Have to check with Clive on that one Fysh (depends if anything is booked)

If there are quiet areas in Kingston that should be cool but bocking in the busy areas is a sure way to get a ban and we don't want to get banned from there as it's to good to lose

Staines is always busy on a Saturday I don't know what Hampton ct is like on a Sat (lots of fun but very limited bocking areas)

Any other local thoughts

I really want to do this one in Kingston though!
So far ive been in 2 large meetups in Kingston on Sunday/Saturday and it was fine, most people seemed to like us and we even got to walk into stores with no hassle.
The police there seem to have a liking towards us.

We also didnt have any trouble with the crowd, and there pleanty of large quite places.

Looking at the MET office fforecast it isnt going to be that bad, theres going to be light rain but only heavy rain at night:
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/kingston_upon_thames_forecast_weather.html
The wind speeds are lower than today and it still reports good visibility.

Hey/.

-Been away, but just noticed this event. I've gone back to Glasto' currently, 'til the end of the month unfortunately. Final bits at Uni really starting to kick in, so won't be bocking for a bit unfortunately.

I'd say second half of May is more probably for me. Have a decent bock, wherever you lot end up going.

Will keep posted in due course...

Ciao

oh that's so tempting, but think i'll miss it, else i'll have a whole week of nothing but bocking meets or something

that and my dodgy bushing is horrible now, had it all  nicely packed in and araldyted last week, jason, your method works quite well...at first

glue cracked somehow, and the holes in the frames must've gotten bigger or something, there's quite a lot of movement on the joint now, so need ot replace them before i do anything serious to them, probably just use PJ bushings as they're stupidly cheap

Hampton court Sunday 12-30 or earlier if you want but Clive and I should make it there by 12-30 we normally hang around the bridge area you get a lot of crowds and there are a couple of good steps

See you there

Great day folks was nice to see you all there Hampton ct is good fun due to the crowds but not much to do there

Bio you just vanished we were worried you had been abducted by Aliens  :Claugh:

Bexx hope your front doesn't hurt to much, that was one good front slap Clive has suggested we all get together for a jumping lesson with mats (might give us all more confidence)

Clive falling over the shop sign was classic I think everyone there got some of his drink as he went (i know I did  :Claugh:) hope the shin feels better now mate

And to cap it all I started getting dizzy and nauseous on the way home later and both Clive and my wife recon it was to much sun (very mild heat exhaustion) so all be warned the summer is here drink lots and don't overdo it
