I had to get insured for demos. But if I didn't I never would. Healthcare is free in this country and insurance will add up to a lot of money over the years and I'd personally rather spend it on an ipod... car... house... (not sure what comes after house, but it would be lots of years of insurance lol).
The counter-argument of course is that being slapped with a law-suit is expensive! So, if you want to do shows then yes you NEED it. If you're clumsy and have lots of money then why not. But otherwise, no, it's not essential as such. Not a bad idea. But not essential.

:D should get round to sorting some for me sometime, feel as if it's needed ever since that incident with the pram :Claugh:

Cost me £30/year :D
-
care to give us a location fo where it's from/details of what it covers etc?
-
Does the PLI cover you up to £5mil of damages?
-
PLi is a must have, it is not just the cost of providing medical care for anyone you may injure but is also needed to cover litigation costs.
Just gone thru the process. Cannot remember what the costs were but around £30,000 for a minor injury.
Healthcare is not the issue, if someone is injured then there is the additional aftercare that is required and also you then get into losss of potential earnings etc if it is serious. For example if you fell on a child and injured an arm so that ther was limited movement you can be into serious money. The reason £5m is now quoted by organisers as a minimum requirement is because they are now being sued for this amount on a regular basis. Cannot tell you exact circumstances but recently I have seen a serious arm/elbow injury be settled at £3m+

PPL! trust me you need PLI if ur gonna bock in the public centre! We have had PLI for the pas year and it made hell of a differance!!!
I think it would be best if you guys wanna do Public events and Preformances you need it! It may be expencive but not as expensive as paying out millions of pounds!!!!
-
well if you think about it, even £100 a year is peanuts to most people, and a moderate amounmt to the really poor students, it's like £2 a week
what's the best place for one to aquire some :D
-
lol now u have an excuse to fall ontop of people!
-
I have a PLI of 2 million, decent for £30/year...
