Title: wearing out
Post by: Roperip on June 01, 2009, 05:35:17 PM
hey guys,

i was just wondering what is the best way to stop my hoofs from wearing out, at the moment i put bits of bike tire on the bottom but i get through these very quickly. so is there a better way to protect them?

Do you really need to protect them?

What do they cost ..bout £28 a pair last time I checked.

How long will a pair of hooves last?

Well ( I admit I use 7's  but I gather pj's rubber is about the same nowadays) I use my stilts as much if more than most, I use um on most surfaces, from grass to gravel set in concrete ( fab grip but like nuclear grade sandpaper when it comes to scraping away at hooves)

Ive been bocking 2 and a 1/2 years , not on same stilts I admit. But it was only last month I fitted my 5th pair of hooves overall. I d say hooves should last 6 months . If you were a jogger would you complain if you had to by new shoes every 6 months , nope it would be par for the course.

Or there is my other idea --wear 'baby converse trianers'

well most ways are a variation on tiresocks, all personal preference really, i generally go with 7s feet as they last me about 3-6 months, but they suck if you go anywhere near grass/wet & smooth concrete

I was on my ipod then so kept it brief. But I actually think they are the best alternative to tire socks and even the real hoofs that come with them. You get the same grip on concrete and seriously good performance on grass.

What is this about something silly on grass???  :Cwideeyed:

All I know is that a certain person who has developed a spring breaking problem borrowed some from someone and likes them so much he bought some

And having known this certain someone for a few years now he always does something silly on Bocks  :Claugh:

There you go Spud work out who that is  :Claugh:
