Post by: jordiebarrett on August 29, 2009, 01:10:51 PM
yesterday i was in the grayfriers mamerioal, where the police moved us on,all the sudden a mass wedding appeared, the groom(bad spellin? sorry!) saw my stilts are was all the sudden wanting a good,he asked if i could do some shots with him in the front and back or the photos,i then spoek to the photographer,"molly g" and got chating and he had a 3D camera,he took about 20 photos of doing diffrenty things and has said that if we had a big meet he would be privalaged to come and do 3D photos for us,at NO cost,im not sure when our next  hunny or lynn meet is,but these photos are an EPIC WIN and as the ones i got were free, and hes said others will be free if he was able to use them for promotion? win?

That sounds really good, but how do you get 3d pictures?

We had some guy try out a 360 degree video camera on us once, with jono flipping over it. Not seen the footage yet, he was meant to be showcasing it in a festival in portugal.

If I rember right 3D photos are basicly Stereoscopic shots (two pics taken at eye width apart) and then processed into red and green heavy photos so when you look at them with the special glassed the relevant eye only sees the relevant section of the pic so it looks like you can move round the image

Having said all that times move on and they might have a better system now

Did see the early holoprojector images and movies at a science show once and they were amazing but only monocrome and displayed in a dry ice fog (looked like the Star Wars R2D2/Princes Leah scene)

That's pretty much how they still work Jason :)

Cinema has moved on and now used polarised light and alternating frames flicking between each eye to create an impression of 3D when watched through polarised glasses, but alas photos are still stuck in the old anaglyph format.
