Title: what was your very first stilt mod?
Post by: Nero on August 30, 2009, 08:50:56 PM
the very first thing i had to mod on my stilts was some huge gaffer tape covered foam pads for the straps at the back of the kneebar, i remember after my first day bocking the area where it was burnt to bits, i think i may still have a scar.
these days i think the only things that really identify my stilts is the orange foam calfpad that i have not yet got round to doing, but thinking about it now hmmmmmm
so what was the first thing you done to your stils, i bet most peoples was taped springs so what was the first thing you done for say comfort or durability?

PoweriSers:
Added more velcro to the strap on the kneebar to get it tighter, and plain black tyre socks... Which were then upgraded to bright green ones :D

Fitted Calf Cuffs.

I'm sure Locky can provide a great picture of my original setup of my first pair of stilts.

i think my first mod was when i needed to replace the rivets on my stilts nero did have footage but probably been ran over by now... i had to do an emergency repair on the bus on the way to the city centre me nero and k-rock fixed it with bolts from halfords which are still in place to this day :) since then i got the pinheads cuffs our modfather never fails to deliver :)

My first mod was padding the kneebar out with foam so that my legs actually fit and soon after got some of pinheads original straps (which i'm still using today)

I still got the footage, its on one of about 30 hour long dvds we took while out bocking, an epic fix that was, within 20 minutes your stilts were good as new, but wasnt your sexy bindings on your stilts before you managed to sheer the rivets from the kneebar bracket?
also i noticed today chocol8 is rocking some bindings just like yours

Yes, but knowing your darf, you were holding it by the blade...

really wasn't, just caught the blade on the earth pin of the plug i was trying to unscrew, was applyign downwards pressure as it was a kinda mangled screwhead, and those knives don't lock, so it just went and folded

My first mod was to make riot-gear calf supports with double cuffs. ^_^ I like to be different! They are essentially calf cuffs but I made them before I'd ever heard of them. The knee bars are still there, but only because I didn't want to fork out more money for new bars.
