Title: Webbing Footstraps Modification
Post by: TomH999 on September 23, 2009, 04:55:17 PM
This is my webbing footstrap modification.>
I am doing this mod because after a few weeks of searching for snowboard bindings it got boring and I couldn't find any for a good price.
So instead I decided to buy my own materials to create some webbing footstraps, I based my design around the velocity stilts footstrap setup. Hope you like it :)

End Design.>
To just show you what the end product looked like here are some pictures.

Materials.>
These are the materials I used.

Just a note.. What about using the stuff they use for netting? At Playzone and the like? The Green nylon (probably) netting. then attach it to snow board esk straps to tighten it down?

I don't have any pics as I took the straps off before using them but they were just bolted to the side of the moving section of the footplate with a 5 mm bolt

They didn't seem to work well as an answer on their own and were designed as a saftey strap as you were ment to bolt your shoes to the stilts

I have found that the best anchour point is the support bar under the foot
I use a link cut from a suitably sized chain looped over the bar and then sew the web to that

thanks alot, they have taken me about 2 weeks to do and yes when i get round to fixing my other straps to my other stilt i will take some pics, at the minute ive been trying to perfect the measurements etc. to just one set of straps, then repeating them.
its been raining loads lately and ive been at college so i havnt had time to go on them, plus my old footplate is still attached to my left stilt.

Sounds like you are doing a proper job of it. Would be really interested to see more pics and here how they are to use.
