Title: New Kneepad split in two from a fall.
Post by: Biohazard on October 22, 2009, 11:42:33 PM
Today when I had a bad fall while Bocking I landed on my knees and my new kneepad split in two, I am wondering if this would need replacing(perhaps call up Pro-Jump because they are brand new).

Wow my old ones took forever to break... how you manage that?

My friend got footage of it, but I think I bailed while jumping quite high and perhaps landing on one knee before the other.
Oh and I was using calf cuffs.

You said it, you had a bad fall. The knee pads have done their job. If you do have a nasty fall these kneepads do break. But they break and not your knee. I think the break in the knee pad is actually a way of the energy dispersing so I would be thankful. It's unlucky they are new but it's not a fault with the pads. They are not indestructible and can break. Annoying...until you think of your knee being in that pads place.

Would I still be able to use it while Bocking?
I might cannibalise my old knee pads and tape them on top if worst comes to worst.

once it's broken its ability to protect your knee in another fall is significantly reduced, and taping another set of kneepads on top of them won't help that.  They're not that expensive just buy another pair.
