I know this has been posted elsewhere but it's awesome! So I will post it here incase you havn't heard yet.
I haven't got the app yet. No memory on my ipod but I think I will have to check it out just because it's a bocking game lol. It is iphone/ipod touch only. I doubt it will be available on any other platform :Cwink:
Info,screenshots ect:

Hopefully the app will do well and if nothing else advertise the sport a bit. But the way these guys crash in the video I don't know if anybody will want to take it up :D

Awesome game :) very fun... not as fun as bocking though.
Im going to give it a go so that i can transform the settings to a computer format so you can have it as a flash file.
Anyone know what the legal aspects of that is?
DC
-
DC do you know how to code? its not just about 'transforming the settings'
;)
You'd be best to talk to the author who is on the 'other' forum
Hes called idiwo 'http://www.idiwo.com/'
-
It's not quite perfect but then none of the early skateboarding games were either.
I think this is great, looks totally playable!
-
downloading now :D
-
on the subject of recoding it, could try the iphone simulator, you can get it as part of the xcode iphone dev tools (osx of course)
if anyone wants a bockin ggame on any other platform, get working on it :Claugh:
-
So, has anybody played the game? Is it any good?
-
Ooh nice, downloading it now ;)
-
Hi guys!
We hope you enjoy with our game.
If sales will be good we will port a version for pc\mac and web-based version too.
I hope that our game will attract great attention to this amazing sport.
If any questions - feel free to ask.
BTW, we still looking for some stilts-maker company for become a sponsor of this game.
-
if you're plannign on a pc/mac version? why no linux one? seeing as it's very similar to osx in terms of programming, just a thought of course.

Our engine can port only to web\pc\mac
-
You can reformat it though going though the system and changing it, may need to re-make some graphics though.
Just wondering, would you allow me to try if i keep all the game as you made it? Just transfer it to flash?
DC
-
O yeah if you feel liek mentioning the Riser Raptors (devon bocking group) in it we wont object :P

Its impossible due to technical site.
OpenGL ES, C#, C++ and engine ...
-
Ooo i see, well fair enough :) well thanks anway.

alrighty then, but if it's only done in C/C++ and uses opengl there shouldn't be much difficulty porting it
-
DG i tried that but the file just wont seem to work AHHH frustrating... need a bigger hardrive :D

without engine modul? =)
-
without engine modul? =)
well i couldn't say, don't have the source for it :D shouldn't be too hard though, unless it's all based on the modern osx stuff, instead of using oldschool UNIX based code
-
Lol DG or you could wait till they do it themselves,
You thought about maybe jsut decoding it all and adding your own in, wont be to difficult... just rediculously time consuming and take alot of work.
DC
-
downloding on to my phone as we speak :)
-

if you're talking about dissassembling it, a: wouldn't work, and b: slightly illegal in the copyright sense etc as it's a comemrcial thing, so no
-
Oh dear...another addictive app
-
Lol DG,
Thats why i don't plan on doing it, and i asked what legal things there were, so thanks :) anyway i don't have enough time or knowledge of game coding to do that, especially for an iphone :S
Id die of confution :P

I thought you said you were doing media law?
-
I am, but my brother designs computer games, and has been since he was like 15-16, and he is now 28... so he taught me loads and been brought up with him making games, and showing me how they work.
Media law doesn't involve games, its photography and movies... looking to start work in film industry making sure they dont break the law.
Dunno which answer you wanted so said both :)

Yes, we already fix this ugly picture.
Guys, please, all of you who buy our game - rate it in AppStore. We need you "5 stars" anr reviews!

The only glaring problem with it is the timing of the jumps. it is possible to jump on the game when you couldnt for real. it shouldnt be instant. it should be at the end of a stride if you understand me?

First version was "like in real life", and we face with a problem: it was very slow and boring game.
arcade game play is required, unfortunately.
