Hey to everyone :Csmile: Someone at work mentioned their brother had bocks so I looked online and came across this forum - I think I've been on it for 3 days straight! I'm hooked and definitely going to buy. It's an awesome site and it's so refreshing to have none of the elitist c**p found on other sites. Good job!
All the sucking up done so you don't all shout ( :Cwink: ) I need to ask a nooby question. I usually consider myself quite a good researcher but I really am stuck by which weight to go for. I'm 180cm, weigh 83kg and I think I fall into the 'athletic' group the FAQ's mention you should take into account. It says as a beginner you should go 10kg above your actual weight, which I think puts me into the M90 category. BUT, I am right on the cusp of M100's and if my weight changes it's likely to go up a little, rather than down.
My worry is that if I go for M90's I might bottom out once I get the hang of it, or if I go for M100's they'll be rock solid and I'll look an even bigger t*t than I will already!
Any help would be much appreciated, and thanks in advance.

I had a slight advantage in the fact I met with a couple of members from here and had a go on their bocks, a set of m90's and a set of m100's too, I found that although the springs were obviously tougher on the 100's I wouldn't say you would find them rock solid.
If you are already fairly fit and healthy then you should be able to practice longer and get the techniques down quicker, plus you said your more likely to gain weight and move into the next bracket.
I'm a complete noob too but it sounds to me like you may as well go for M100's because if over time you do gain weight or technique, then you will need them.
I've just ordered mine (M90's) because the last time I did some serious sport was a few years ago, unless you count motorcycle racing.
So I'll be regaining lost fitness at the same time, although I fully expect to have to invest in some M100's in a year, maybe less.
My opinion, not to be taken as direction. :P

Hi Kouros
If you ask nicely when you order (and they have any in ) you could ask them to get as close to 95kg ish as they can or at least in the high 90's or low 100's
I bock on 114's despite being very close to that weight and although I can bottom them it makes very little difference to me (I am very overweight and need to lose a few :Claugh:)
Most newbys find it easier to start on softer springs and advance faster even if they start bottoming
Also if you get very fit and good on them you will probably end up going higher than 10kg over your weight eventually
So like I say ask nicely for 95kg and they will try to get close

Thanks for the response! I'll definitely do that when I order :Csmile: thanks again

Would that be the spring swap service? Isn't that an extra £15 or something?
-
Only if they don't have that size in stock and have to swap springs

What springs did you get? It is the number written on the bottom of the spring hoof end.

Looks like 44? Or G4, its not very clear.
~Edit~ Try 94 lol I looked at the second bock. Thats the Kg then I'm gonna guess? I got 94Kg in that case. Good times.
