Title: Has anyone used Powerjuperz stilts
Post by: GIZMOQUEEN on April 07, 2010, 10:10:32 PM
**powerjumpers link - illegal in patented countries**

-this make of stilts has are light weight frame and moving footplate like powerskips, and their half the price.

Has anyone used this make before, are they any good?

Skyrunners are not always that bad, the lower weight models are ok (ish) the straps on them are ok, they dont have a moving footplate (they just look like the should).
And they are heavy (VERY HEAVY) due to the cheap metals :(

IF you look at the link,  you will see they do have a moving footplate

quote from site

"New enhancements to the PowerJumperz Pro include:

    * Smoother Operation: A new axle was added allowing the footplate to rotate making operation smoother and more natural. The new design is far more durable, again reducing resistance allowing the user to jump higher and farther than ever!

    * Lighter and Stronger: New lightweight aluminum alloy footplate replaces the plastic footplate making the PowerJumperz Pro much stronger and lighter by 400 grams.

    * Less Maintenance + More Durable + Upgraded Parts: New more durable rubber stopper/foot that's easier and cheaper to replace. New nylon straps upgrade. Brass Bushings upgrade".

Yes its called a lie to sell them quickly, it fails to mention a lighter frame than what??? and also more durable than what? its quite sneaky.
Also It definatly does not have a moving footplate, I have the same pair here

i think you will find they do as they have a quick release bolt going underneath the footplate the same sort on a scooter or bike wheels, undo this and take out the bolt and voila pivoting plates.

You probably have the older model then. There are 2 types of SkyRunners in circulation, those with moving footplates and those without. The moving footplates on them are rubbish though.

Compared to Skip ones yeah, the weight distribution on them is slightly different so they're a bit dodgey, same at the footplates they put on poweriZer Pros

Just 2 things

£182 is a bit steep for the standard ones and it goes up for the moving footplate

And is it me or is it important that they know how to spell warrenty

"" Your Power Jumperz come with 3 months warrantee""  :Claugh:

The clips and bushes are on the outside as opposed to the skip ones that are on the inside

Must admit that I  have had 2 sets of Skip ones in use for nearly 2 years and they are like new but they do have my own home made bushes in them so that might make a difference
Also I replace bushes as soon as they become loose so again that might make a difference

Is it just the bushes on yours Carl as I have never seen a set of frames "warped" that a new set of bushes and a few tweeks couldn't fix
Only major problem is if the bush holes in the frames oval out them your Bu**ered

Some times Carl if you loosen all the main bearing bolt and tug them back into alignment it works

If you get time to come down to one of our sunday home meets mate I'll have a look or Basingstoke is fun

Or you could post a few pics I might be able to see the problem

Why not at capital Bocking or Walk for Life? that way there is a big group with different knowledge on how to fix things.

Although I don't doubt for a second that Jason can't fix it, he is like a god with tools :P Just look at halloween :D

well its a lil difficult saying buy somay illeagal here :Ctwitcy:

Might a big 'maintenance' day out be an idea?  Find a nice 'centralish' park. Get the barbies going. Bring loads of tools, lube, spare parts ( to buy sell or barter) and set to work? And all ya 'icki' stilts

Reading might fit.  Got a sk8 park close by loads of flat parkland by the Thames.
