Hi All,
I have now managed to find a Gym in Midsomer Norton (about 30 mins by car from Bristol), that appear to be "Bock Friendly". The only concern they have is whether the stilts will damage their floor, so to test this they propose I organise a session where we can carry out "normal" gym meet activities.
I have therefore booked the gym for 2 hours on Sunday 2nd May. 2.00 - 4.00 pm.
If they're not happy and feel damage is being caused, we can move outside to the tennis courts or astroturf pitch with. They can provide crash mats if required, and have basketball hoops in the gym if we want a game at the end of the session.
Please feel free to comment, ask questions or pm me for further details.

Heya, One of the people in the Riser Raptors is coming to Uni in Bristol in september, and we are all going up towards there for a bock if you are interested?? there is about 9 of us coming up
Regards
DC
-
Hi, yeah I would be interested in that one.
In the mean time I need to try to track down the guys more local to me for the one in May.
Cheers
Graham
-
I could do this :]
-
Cant come, going to a may festival with the misses :S
DC
-
Sorry to hear that Alex, catch you next time maybe. And def if your mate comes up to Bristol Uni.
That would be great Tiff. Spoke to Chris on facebook, and he was keen to come. He was going to chat to Jamie as well. katy wasn't sure whether she was free or not.
Does that mean you're up this way that weekend anyway for your visit?
Graham
-
I can be, I'll just have to bribe the boyfriend so I can steal his house. If not I may have to steal a lift from Chris or something, as the boything has exams for uni and wont want to be too distracted. But I can try :]
I'm up this weekend so I'll prod him when he gets home.
-
I can do this, however I'd like to know if Chris is coming and if he can give me a lift home or not.
Also, how far is this from the train station? If it's ages away could someone possibly pick me up/drop me off? Thanks.
-
Chris said he wanted to try, but I haven't heard yet. I'll drop him a note on Facebook to ask.
If not I can pick you up from the station, and drop you back there if needed. It's only a few miles, bout 15 mins by car. Im afraid it's a bit too far to take you all the way home though. lol
-
Just spoke to Chris, and he said Jamie may be coming, but he will have to let you know nearer the time.
Graham
-
Okay, well I'll book the tickets tonight so I get a super discount. And thanks for picking me up ^_^
I did think it was a fair old trek from the station.
-
Cool. It is Bath Spa station by the way, and not Bristol Templemeads, just in case it's not your regular stop.
Graham
-
I figured, that's a really nice station cuz I go through it to get to Bristol Temple Meads and I go through it on the way home.
-
I will try and make this one.
-
I'll have to take a rain check for this because of money; I have to buy a million and one tickets to get from bristol to bath spa back to newbury, so i'm going to see if chris is coming and if he can give me a lift. i will try though.
-
Graham as you've always made the effort to make the TV - Bockzers ( name by Chris) meet..
I shall try my best to be there and find my missing wrist guard. I think is the skip formally know as Katy's room :Ctongue:
-
might be able to make this one, its the day before my moms birthday and i would have to get the train if my mom says i can come. :Cconfused:
jordan
im working on signatures/graphics for the TV Bockerz/TV Bockzers
could i please know the name?
-
Maybe you could do a poll on it ?
-
Cheers Katy, I appreciate the thought. I know how far away you are. Would love to see you there but don't cause yourself problems by trying to do so.
I need to find someone else coming from yourway who could drive and bring you and Jordan.
-
Like I said to Katy, if we do this again she's more than welcome to crash at the boythings, but this time he has exams so i'm just sneaking in because he loves me and wont remove me from his bed. I hope.
-
I need to find someone else coming from yourway who could drive and bring you and Jordan.
thanks graham that would be a great help
-
the posts just ended???
-
Not managed to finds anyone else yet to come along Jordan.
Tiff, will check with Chris what time they are planning on coming down, so I can work out what time to pick you up. I will need to make sure I'm back down to meet them here.
-
so would it be possible for them to bring me up (or down, whichever it is :Cwideeyed:) ?
jordan
-
There's no more room in the car :Cfrown:
-
Okay, thanks a lot. I assume you could still pick me up from Clifton Down?
Just let me know what time/place :]
-
Chris is taking his car so there room for four people and stilts.
Shame we don't have a mini bus :Cno:
-
There's no more room in the car :Cfrown:
i take it this is intended for me to read??
-
oh yes. almost forgot, graham do you know what a rough price is from reading to whichever station i would get off at is??? if katys post was aimed at me than i MIGHT be able to get the train, but probably not as im skint, if not than i hope you lot have a great meet.
jordan
-
Sorry Jordan yep, it was mean't for you :Cfrown:
If I passed my blooming driving test last month we wouldn't have this problem
-me sorry
-
Tiff, I'll let you know as soon as I have a time.
Jordan, I will check prices and let you know just in Case. I could prob pick you up from station after getting Tiff
-
thanks graham
jordan
-
It'll be about a tenner for you Jordan. Return. Just check on www.nationalrail.co.uk for times/prices.
-
Ok then. If we were to work around that, (and I know you may decide to save and not come Jordan) we could either met here at 11.30 or 12.30 to get some bounce time in befoe the gym.
Outdoor stuff would be good, but don't want to wear chris out before the flips!
I can pick tiff up at 11 or 12, then get Jordan if needed on the way back through bath at about 20past the hour depending on which train, then meet the others at the town centre or gym at half past / quarter too?
How does that sound? Any Votes for 11.30 or 12.30?
We could do with talking clive and Jason into coming so they can bring the van.
-
sorry guys it would be £16-18 for me, so i cant come this weekend :Ccry:, hope you all have a great time, let me know how it gos. :Cfrown:
jordan
-
You're making sure you're getting a childs ticket, right?
Adult prices are around that, childrens on nationalrail come to £9.90 or below.
-
Just on a quick note,
How far away is somerset from Bracknell??
-Jammy.
-
Hi jammy, it's probably just under 2 hours by car, and just over an hour by train from Reading, if that helps.
Normally takes me about hour an half to Reading by car.
-
I dont wanna make any promises but IF i can go, could me and my sister join your meet?
-Jammy.
-
Yes of course you can. You would be most welcome.
I think you know a couple of the peeps going. Just give me shout if you need to know anything more.
Graham
-
Yeah,
Can you give me a run down of whats actually happening? XD
-Jammy.
-
Yeah sure, no probs. Still need to finalise the times but the gym is booked from 2.00 until 4.00 and we have the use of crash mats while we're there. A couple of people want to try flips.
Could be anywhere from 6 - 12 people with stilts, and 3 or 4 who want to try for the first time. Ages will be from 14 up to 44 (me).
To make the most of the day considering some of the travelling, we were planning to start nearby for an hour or two outside, but if the weather is bad, I am thinking of getting the gym an hour earlier, 1.00 - till 4.00 so we can make sure we get plenty of bocking.
I wil let people know if I do make it earlier.
Anything else?
Graham
-
1 Last thing, where abouts is it??
-Jammy

-

and would your sister be driving you??
jordan
-
Dear All,
I have moved the start time forward a bit to 1.00pm, mainly in case the weather is still bad.
We can still stay until 4.00 if we want, so for anyone planning to get there at 2.00 you will still be fine.
If anyone wants to get there earlier, than that's fine by me. I can meet you there (dependent on when I pick people up) and can always go to one of the other suitable spot for a bit first.
Graham.
-

Awesome session guys we all had a really great time. Thanks to graham for sorting the session and to elliot at the centre for being really supportive and well done chris on landing the fronts. Pics and vids to follow once we get home!
-
Cheers Guys.
Thanks to Katy, Tiff, Chris, Jamie and Jordan for coming down from the T.V.B., and thanks to Locky and the gang for coming across the water and helping out.
Was nice to see Jake (??) clear the 7ft high jump bar, and complete his 10 consecutive back flips.
I think it all went well, and everyone had a good time. *Note to self, spend more time on my own bocks next time rather then lending them out so much*. :Claugh:
Well done Chris for landing your flips. :Cnotworthy: Nice new Cuffs Tiff, shame they weren't more comfy today.
I also think we have a couple of new Bockers on the horizon, with one of the guys I work with, and Elliott at the centre.
Graham
-

Thank you Graham for organising everything.

My friend Keir, who was walking around on mine at the end of the meet just text me to say he went straight on line when he got home and has just bought some pro-jump plus stilts.
:Claugh:
-
great, i think we will be seeing some more of him then.
-
Hey Graham, just a note to say I'm in Bristol from the 29th May to the 5th June, so if you wanted to do another gym meet there I'd be up for it, and I'd bring the boything too.
-
it.
-
Ok, I'll look into it.
I'll check with the gym this week sometime anyway to make sure they are happy and will let us go in again.
Would have to be that first weekend I reckon, 29th, 30th or Mond 31st as its bank hol again. The sunday after, 6th June is the walk for life, so numbers might be limited on 5th.
My mate from work would prob come, and maybe even Elliott from the gym, as I suspect he will have bought some by then. lol
-
probably
-
Yeah, I'm doing the walk for life and am leaving on the 5th to go home, so I don't think then would be good :P
-
Just a quick one to let those who went know, I popped into the gym today and they have agreed that we caused no damage at our gym meet, and are happy for us to book further sessions whenever we want.
With that in mind, I am going to propose that I try to arrange one for Sunday 30th May, but will check out interest first.
I know at least three of the people who came to watch the last one who were local have now bought stilts.
Tiff, you said you and the boything might be able to attend??
-
if you post in the new meet category than you will probably get a lot of people coming. as its a while to said date.
