Title: Knee Bar
Post by: Danny1632 on June 16, 2010, 09:38:03 PM
My knee bar wrecks my shin any ideas for padding, and i would prefer to avoid buying shin pads cos I've got knee pads already!

Get a set of Cuffs mate

I couldn't get on with the kneebars they used to rub the sides of my legs

Must admit that the Pitdirt style knee/shin pads do work much better than plain kneepads

oooch   wot you mean by 'wrecks'?   rubs raw?   r u wearing shorts?

Shin guards 'would' b a good investment.

But for simple rubbing, try getting some athletic knee supports ...chemists, boots  prob even a big supermarket

If you look closely at some of the Walk for life pix you will see such items as sox, elbow pads, bandanas and even pillow cases to reduce rubbing!!  Ive even used tea towels

I wear jeans, it might be cos I'm just getting used to them only had mine a week!

and to Jason's post:

Do you mean but them off the Pro Jump website?
Is there and modifications you can think of? I thought maybe wrapping a towel round he front and securing it with Gaffa Tape..... I dunno!!

yeah theres a difference between straight knee pads, and the knee shin pads pj sell, the knee/shin pads do offer all the protection you would need from kneebars, but one of the girls in our group has been seen you use towels between her leg and the bar.
Personally i would suggest you get some cuffs though, for me there is no going back to bars

i got projump cuffs  but 7 stilts  and at mo they dont work...the bars and brackets are of a different tolerance  and the bars on each side of the cuff splay outwards after a lil while

I'm not sure that PJ do the Pitdirts anymore but they have some similar ones and they are just as good
