Title: BRISTOL BOCKING
Post by: RRparlbystumble on June 23, 2010, 09:32:54 AM
Now that I have got into Bristol UWE

I am incredibly keen on setting up a group or even just occasional meets
in the city centre or better places if people suggest( i don't know Bristol at all)

I will be moving into mah house early September and will have a week or 2 before lectures start

it will be fantastic if it does get some interest
because let's face it know body likes bocking by themselves
:P

cheers

Parlby

Hi,

I'll keep an eye out while I'm on my travels round Bristol and let you know when I find somewhere.

In the bad weather I can book my local gym up again.  They provided crash mats and high jump bar etc last time.  The gym is about 30 mins drive from the centre of Bristol.

Not to many. Tiff may be about as her bf lives in Bristol. There may be one or two others.  There is a bus that stops right outside the gym, but it's probably about an hours ride.

Parlby, I have seen your message on our guestbook. Of course you will be welcome to join us in Cardiff, not sure what it costs on the train though.

We'll probably have gym sessions twice a week come september.

Its only just over an hour for me all the way by car.

I should be around a lot, boyfriend was in Clifton Down and is now in Westbury On Thyme. If it's in Cardiff I may have to ask Graham nicely for a lift & suchems. Or there's a train.

Hoping to get into UWE next year too, so hopefully I'll be there more often! :P

Hi Al,

Following your request for bocking spots in the area, whilst it's not actually in Bristol Centre, they have just opened a big new Skate Park near me.

It's about 30 mins by car / an hour on the bus from Bristol, but only 10 mins walk from the gym we used.  Would maybe be suitable for day out, couple of hours in the gym with the crash mats and high jump etc, then visit to this place to scare the skateboarders.  Tee Hee.  There are other places nearby too.

Only just opened this week so the problem might not be whether it suitable for bocking, but more like whether we can get space with all the skaters and bikers there.

See Pics. -

Graham

 park looks pretty schweet :D

in saltash me and hammy (another RR) are hated by skaters in salt mill skate park for bocking round
there
one of them was like "ha it's pointless you can't do grab's or anything on those s**tty stilts"
so i went and did a double spring grab and a back scratcher.
that shut him up.

guess me and you are the founders of the BB's :D haha.

Title: Re: BRISTOL BOCKING

I'll wander down to the skate park over the next few days with stilts on, and see if I get bottled off straight away. lol

If I don't then I can look at booking something in September maybe.

When did you say you were going to be around Al?
Title: Re: BRISTOL BOCKING
Post by: dark-castles2 on July 27, 2010, 08:48:35 PM
Me and Al are looking to come up for a day or 2 over the next few weeks, probably crash in a hotel for the night, so if yo give us a dya or 2 you are free during late August ish, then we shall come up  :)

I'm pretty free all of August, beginning of Sept, apart from 22nd Aug and 11th Sept when I'm off to Gigs.

Might be easier for you guys to just pick a day and let me know.  I'm sure it will be fine.

Depending on dates, you might even be able to crash at mine if there's only the two of you.  Im about 30 minsdrive from Bristol Centre.

Hi Marcus,

I might be able to, but not sure yet.  I'll let you know nearer the end of the week once I know how work is fixed.

Do you live in Bristol, or do you travel there?   There maybe somewhere else closer to you.

Cheers

Graham

Hi Locky, It is quite good there, and there are some other spots within walking distance that we might not get kicked out of. lol

Would any of you guys fancy popping over this weekend if the weather stays good?

Marcus, when were you thinking of trying to meet up?

Well if you did fancy coming over to Cardiff on Sunday to have a try, I could maybe pick you up on the way past?

The gym there would be a good place to learn.  Plenty of people to help out and lots of crash mats too just in case.

The meet is 3.30 on Sunday, so I expect I would probably get you about 2.30 to be safe.

Ok, I'll send you a private message and my number, and we can sort it out where I can pick you up.
