Title: fiji island maps...
Post by: Buderim on April 17, 2011, 05:12:27 PM
Based on the map, the lowest point for the group of islands is at 0m in the Pacific Ocean while the highest point is on Mount Tomanivi in the centre of Viti Levu at an elevation of 1,324 m. The location of the islands also puts it in the path of cyclonic storms. The country has a coastline measuring 1,129 km and 18,270 sq km of water. Due to its location on the map, the 180 degrees meridian line runs across the group of islands, which means that Fiji is one of the countries that will experience mornings and see the sun set before most other countries.
