Post by: EvilLordLoki on October 23, 2011, 05:18:53 PM
I have recently found a crack in part of my exo frame, i was wondering if i could do anything about it and if i can't maybe replace it?

Not seen that one before mate

I saw some of the early prototypes go at the other end of that bracket but they were modified before PJ started selling them

Looks like you have just been unlucky with a stress fracture

Give Naz (webmaster ) a PM to see what she thinks

something similar happened to XDVandalDJ, you definitely don't want to bock on it with that fracture.  I'd be surprised if PJ stocked replacements, but they should be able to get you the part.

Yep seen that one before XS

But have a closer look the fracture is at the top of the bracket on the pressure side

Looks more like a fracture caused where the metal was bent

I can see two reasons for this
A- the metal had an incursion or was to cold when bent
B-the bolts that hold the bracket have worked loose thus putting extra stress on the top bolt causing the fracture

I would tend to agree with you about not bocking on it just for safetys sake until it was replaced

But that would be my advice to others
If it was mine I would look at the worst that could happen if the fracture increased and I don't think it would cause a catastophic failure like in your picture so if it was my only pair I would check it before bocking during and after until I got the new bit

So flamingsword26 as usual your choice at your own risk  :Claugh: but if we wanted to be safe we would have taken up knitting  :Claugh:

I feel a new saying coming along.

If you're not bleeding suffering a catastophic failure, you're not pushing yourself hard enough.

:Claugh: At that rate Locky I'm trying to hard in life  :Claugh:

Most of my failures are catastrophic

Ello

Just noticed this post, drop me a pm with your addy and I'll sort it out for you :) - we have all the spares for these stilts so don't worry, to be fair Ive never seen that section show any weakness, however the part XS has sent a pic off has been slightly redesigned and we are currently on version 3 of that.

For my ref can you let me know how long you've had yours, how often you go out on them and if you've had any major knocks, every bit of feedback helps to get them better next time

Kindest Regards
Naz
