Title: weight issue
Post by: tl1000gussie on June 12, 2007, 12:29:54 AM
hi all.

having been looking to purchase some jumping stilts and thinking "its worth a go for £135.  looks like fun.

I have a small (big problem) i weigh about 90kilos. (subway is my friend)

Does this mean i am out of the bocking game, or can i buy some cheaper stilts, and if i like it then spend money on better ones.

Will it mean I just dont go so high, or will wear out parts quicker.

Ta for any help.

gussie

Call projump to order them, you will find that they tend to have a 100kg version hidden away, Naz will know more than me!!

As far as I am aware we are sold out of the heavier weights  :(

We will be getting more in soon  but are waiting for the current models to be improved.

Watch this space or if you are in a hurry to get bouncing check out some of the other brands -- a quick google search will do wonders!

Hey Guys,

Im turning 15 on Monday 25th, and i saw the pro-jumps on TV ages ago, and it suddenly occured to me a few weeks ago, i gotta get myself some of those bad boys!
So after my birthday, providing i have enough money  :P, i shall buy some, I'm about 80 Kilos, and about 5 ft 10, so would you recommend the 90 kilo models?
Im guessing (looking at all the pics of injuries) you would advise padding, would that just be knee, elbow and wrist?

Cheers anyone that can help,

Ste

well happy birthday for monday, im terriblr on the weight stuff ( some1 else will post that answer im sure).

wrists r a must -dont leave home without them. Go for the knee and elbow too. I actually dont like to go out  without them on --have felt vulnerable on the 1 or 2 occasions ive foregotten wristies.

Helmet is a good idea, few ( inc me ) wear them  but peeps do take chunks out of their heads. But really a helmet is not big invest ment from ya local bmx/sk8 shop

Thanks,

I will take th protection advice into consideration, although ive got a mate who skates, he says i wont need them, but then again, lookin at teh injuries, im sure they will be a good investment :D

Cheers for the advice, but what about the weight, should i go fr the 90 kilo ones?

Hi Ste
I've got a mate who skateboards and at first he said the same then he saw the height you can get and at forward speed (he won't get on bocks after seeing the damage I did on them ) I did'nt wear wristguards and now regret it

The knee elbow wristguards and helmet are IMO nesessary whether you are a learner or a pro

While it's going right its great when it goes wrong you need pads

Cheers, Ste

Snap (no pun intended) ;D
I had never broken anything badly (odd hairline fracture) and was thinking I should get some wristguards (as soon as I pick the ones I want) ::)

Oops too late  ;D

I think you should wear a helmet when you're learning to use them and if you're trying to do difficult tricks or something. You don't really have to wear one all the time.

I had to make the choice to get back in shape a lose some weight and get the 115 ones or keep looking and waitting !
We can all do with keeping in shape and I've not going to go mad on my pair just yet !
