At school in the 70's we had a terminal for an ICL 2904 b ut it was only connected about 2 weeks a term. For the modem you actually picked up a 'phone and put handset in a box and dialed the computer. But we would also type out punched tape --and post it to the computer ( honest im not making it up) However the computer was only a mile or so down the road so sometimes we wondered along to use it.
1st 1 i owned ( still in parents loft) was a dragon 32 ( early production model)

I loved my atari 2600, then had a amiga commodore 1200

Its to do my uni work with, its my laptop, I am going to build a Quad core, machine with 4GB Ram, 2 Terra's of HDD, Super graphics, and lots of cooling equipment!!
I need some images of people bocking against a single colour, so I can update the image on my boot screen, from my PJ's, to actually someone bocking, then I will put it up, for poeple to use!! So people send me images of yourself bocking infront of single coloured background, and have your outline placed on a boot screen, for windows XP!! ;D

I took one of the boards from one the first computers I used when it was thrown out. Lots of geek points if you can guess what it was:

Best guess a silicon graphics video card
-
I had my own "Space Invaders 2" once :o
Cost me £10 but I had to remove for his three floor flat which had a hatch for a door which was third the size of the machine. 3x4x8 foot of 1/2 inch clip board. :o
By the time I got rid of it I could clock it over every time ;D

Close, it's a Silicon Graphics IP21 CPU board with two R8000 processors from a 4 processor SGI Power Challenge.
It was a very nice machine in it's day (mid 1990s) but nowadays my MP3 player could probably wipe the floor with it :)

I loved playing the games and finding cheats :o
There was one called Superman if you paused it three second after the game started you could unpause it ( if you timed it right ) and win it in FIVE seconds
I had both type of controlers for four players :nana:
Games cost over £15 .... each ! May not sound much but that was back in 1970's :o
-
Yeh the atari was awesome, could spend hours of my childhood on that. Some of the games were a bit of a challenge aswell!!!

Yes !
Like the the 24 inch wide screen monitor running at 2048 x 1536 with a 21 inch second monitior ( hardly used ).
It may only be a NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS but it's been pimped and over clocked and as 512mb ram
And part form 6:1 sound it as quod headphones !?
It uses ( bar B drive ) drive letters A to T ( I removed some )
.....
" Remember there's always a bigger fish ! "
-
I need mine for some serious programs, my laptop is a little slow when running them, lol
-
Video editing sucks the life out of PCs. Its a job for the mac. I know somebody who built a water cooling system their PC. It went from a fish tank with fishes and stuff through the PC and back. looked great. Random lol
-
I have used liquid cooling in the past, and know that it works well, if not use liquid nitrogen, lol
-
That sounds dumb. I may try it
-
I just remebered why the fish tank thing did not work... the water slowly got warmer and warmer and was not being cooled down well and the fish er died coz the water was too hot lol
-
here are some vids of people doing it, lol
