hi all... well here they are.... yet again
lets see if they get another 7600 views hmnnnnn.... may take a while :-)
INTRODUCTION..............
firstly for those of you who dont know me from the past thread...
i actually invented these straps before i could even really walk on the stilts...
as when i first ever tried them on, i felt so unstable and unsecure.......
and just by looking at the original straps, i thought, hey i can make something much better than this...
(actually...the words that came to mind were slightly different to that) ;-)
being always into making and inventing things, i proceeded with the task in hand...
the funny thing was... 2 months later.. i was still to busy making them for people,
i didnt get time to go out bocking... making over 70 pairs for people to date.... ironic huh....
FIRSTLY.....
these straps are a quick release version idea, which i came up with
after realising how long and awkward it was to tie stuff around your knee, which would loosen within 10 minutes of use...aghhhhhhh.... pain in the butt
they are a double strap version with back pads for added comfort
and these straps are designed, so all the buckles are hidden away from potential impacts... clever huh.... as quick release buckles are generally made of plastic and would not withstand to many heavy blows...
i use the best quality buckles i can find... normally nexus... so they are the strongest... but from time to time, these can change......
they attatch to your bar via a centre strap, which once you have got it tight, you leave it there :-) you dont take these off unless you have to....
once these have been fitted and adjusted to your prefered tension,
(and believe me...these can go well tight.. i would suggest comfy...but thats entirely up to you...)
you can click them both up within 15 seconds.... yeah...that quick :-)
they litterally take 10 seconds to take both off...and thats including out of your stilts...well i can anyhow hehe....

REMEMBER...bank transfer via paypal takes up to 5 days to clear...

i use a few basic colours to make them..mainly any combination of... black, red, yellow, pink, blue....ie all red with black centre strap, all black and so on...its better to have a black centre strap as it hides the dirt...so see pics...
and should you want a colour of which i do not use normally... i can get that in
at around £3.25 extra..so just add £3....so basically you can choose whatever colour you want to match your stilts....
i would advise against light colours as they show the dirt more...
but you can wash them.....so hey ho....
i will post instructions for fitting them later on in the thread....
PLEASE NOTE...
due to the extreme nature of this sport, i do not guarantee
the straps or buckles in any way shape or form,,,they are very very strong and heavily stitched for the abuse you will give them...they will last you if treated and fitted correctly....so please read the instructions....
as the webbing used can actually toe a car..the breaking strain is emmense
the design will help as ive put the buckles in a location which would avoid all potential impacts at the side of your leg...so remember this before you proceed..
i make a very high standard product, as i am a fussy git, they look manufactured.. just ask the people who have had them...

EXTREME ELITES...08/08
ive added a few pics of the super strong extreme version...
they have a very strong release buckle and the underside is doubled up with 2 layers of webbing..the pink are beckys new ones and the blue and black with red underside are now allllll mine ;-)
excuse the pic quality as it was done on my phone...the pics really dont do them justice...they look similar in appearance from the front other than extra stitching showing, but they sooo dont to the touch....they are as stiff as me in the morning....and can take a real bashing.... damn thats almost porn....
you can see on the underside pictures,
i can stitch like a b***h... ;-) but this version does take longer and will reflect in their price...TBA
flying monkey has a pair of red/black, becky the pink/black so ask them what they think of the stronger version...
my opinion is, they will work exactly the same as the others,with the only exception, they can take more abuse...

The stock straps don't strap you in tight enough, so your legs still wobble around in the knee bars. Buy these and you will feel so much more in control.

if you have a standard quick release buckle
i will make them for you ie lara at £18 delivered ...
thats if you have a colour or mixed colour of which i already have
like red/black centre strap
black/red centre...all red.. all black.... yellow/black centre
pink/black centre....
they work just the same with these buckles..
but the buckles are just not quite as strong thats all......
but hey...they are out the way if impacts so its cool...
as for you older lot....sorry.... as you can afford it lol
if it helps youngsters bocking then so be it.........

INSRUCTIONS FOR FITTING MY STRAPS.... (ELITES)
hello all you lucky strap owners...
for those of you who have them, i dont need to explain what they
do for you, secure wise or jumping wise...soooooooo
FIRSTLY...
these straps are designed so the buckles are away from potential impacts...
(clever huh) :-)
(new versions are now all left and right sided)
the quick release buckles when fitted...will go to the outer side of your legs and the adjuster buckles to the inside...remember this when attatching the centre strap.... should you have tape on your knee bar...it would be better to remove it
where the strap sits...so the centre strap grips better....
also...some brands of stilt have a really soft knee bar padding...it is best for it to be harder as when you pull the centre strap tight it doesnt squash it up to nothing.... mine are 7's so its quite tough....
they are also best used wearing pads...as you should be anyhow...ok
FITTING CENTRE STRAP
the centre strap has 2 buckles...one is stitched and one is moveable...
the smaller moveable buckle should sit exactly on the top of the knee bar from looking above the stilt.... and the larger stitched buckle on the underside away from impact and contact from your legs..see the pics (new versions have a large floating underside buckle also) so it can be replaced should you break it).......
when threading it through the buckles..do it the same way as i have sent them out to you...(tip) as this will go tight or should do if you have done it properly....
for some people, it is better to thread it through all the buckles once while being slack..then pull it tight afterwards..then do it again... as threading it through the top buckle after pulling them tight will be awkward,otherwise, just pull tight and keep feeding through the buckles....it should wrap around twice for double protection of the centre strap..trim it off, an inch after you have passed through the buckles twice...... (mine do not move....so if yours do.....pull them tighter...although this doesnt really matter as once they are fitted and clipped to your legs, they cant go anywhere)....im just fussy :-) so do your best...
the crossover point of the straps should sit perfectly central to your knee bar looking from straight inline with the bar....see pics...
ADJUSTMENT
firstly...get your pads on then put one stilt on including doing up your bindings.... take your time...as once they are fitted to your prefered tension and liking....you wont have to do it again...regarding you always wear your pads in exactly the same place...remember this...
also..dont go extremely tight... go for tight but comfy.... this comes into effect when in the getting up position.... just a pointer....ok
now sit down and fit them with a straightened out leg...
when feeding the webbing through during adjustment...ALWAYS unclip the buckles...this gives less stress to the buckles and stitching and it is much quicker
than tugging away at them... trust me....dont pull....thread them through a buckle at a time...
if it helps.... remove the pads for now and replace them afterwards...leaving enough space to refit them...the buckles slide so this is easy done....
it can be harder for first timers or non thinkers to fit them at first.... im quick but had lots of practice :-) so be patient... you will get it...and be pro in no time...
once you have got them close....stand up...as your muscle mass changes, you
may need to tweak them here or there... if so...unclip them..sit down with a straight leg..adjust slightly and then your done....
as they are made to fit all sizes...you may have some overhang on the webbing...
if so...trim them to about 3 inches of overhang...slightly melt the end to stop the fraying with a small flame like a lighter...then cap them off with the end caps i have provided with them
use pliers to pinch them tight...neat and finished...
PLEASE NOTE...
should you have the stronger nexus type buckles as these can change from time to time...watch your skin on adjustment
these babies are very strong and clip real tight with a snap..you only do it once :-)
NOW GO OUT AND PLAY....

UPDATE...
i now do a new version...
although the others didnt really need it, ive made them so that now
the centre buckle can be replaced if you break it...
it has'nt happened up to now, especially if you fit them correctly so
the larger buckle is directly underneath the bar.. but it can only help eh...
ALSO...
all my previous versions were one sided, meaning all the release buckles were on the outer right side of each leg...my reason for this was...should anyone lose or damage 1 strap, i could remake some without the mix up of, is it left or right....
from now, they will be all left and right, so the release buckles will be on the outside of each leg, so do check....
so there you go...2 new additions....
but wait....
i also make an extreme elite model, mainly aimed at flippers
and people doing many stunts, they have stronger buckles fitted
and the webbing is doubled up and stitched...these will only be made by request as they take more time to do and they will cost more....so if your not doing back to backs etc, you really dont need these....as the normal model caters for all that too, these ones are just for those who big it up....and want the best there is...

Well i go to try them out, didn't get to do much bocking on them cause the springs were way below my weight but, i just wanted to feel how they were. They are far more secure than the stock setup as expected, but i still felt uncomfortable with them, but i think that's because i'm so used to the cuffs and nothing can match them, but for knee bar mods these are top notch. The only criticism i have is that if you don't have kneepads or pants between the clips and your legs you can get pinched. so get some nice knee pads (you should have these anyway) and they'll be great. Nothing can compare to the cuffs for me, and I'm still a fan of the do it your self mods, but if you aren't the DIY type, and have the money these are a great buy.

it was a fair personal opinion...
they are meant for wearing pads with anyhow, as otherwise
the kneebar is uncomfortable on your knee with or without the straps.....
should you have them to tight they can nip..as like anything will....
your watch...your belt...your real frilly panties... lol
so i always suggest comfy rather than tight...especially if wearing shorts
as new users tend to overtighten them, as thats one thing they have never had the option to do previously with the standard stock strap...
it all depends on how the user adjusts them really... and of course
everyones legs are different... so if you use someone elses setup
you need time to adjust them to you....
all in all
the cuff and the kneebar both have good and bad points...
we all use what we prefer and are used too
although i am working on an armoured cuff without any bar whatsoever
as ive improved one....now time to improve the other....

Well, I've got my straps put on now, in conjunction with the inner tube over the bar pad, and they rock! So much more comfortable and secure feeling! I was bouncing around on slippery grass, and the extra security was so appreciated!
Note to anyone else who's not put their straps on yet: read the instructions through first before doing anything! I'm sure girls will, but us blokes never need instructions eh? ;)

PINHEAD - I'm assuming you've managed to acquire more supplies? I'm probably going to need another pair, got a friend just started bocking, she doesn't like the standard strap at all! I used a rubber friendly lube in the end, it was such a pain in the behind doing 4 knee bar pads! My girlfriend's stilts are Skyrunners, they have a stupidly fat bar pad, so used an inner tube from a mountainboard tyre! The tyre itself is perfect for hoofies :D

My bar pads are a lot firmer and smaller than the skyrunners, the tube seems fine so far! The mountain board tube sits nicely on the skyrunners and as it's a thicker tube helps compensate for the squishy pad.
My friend (kia) has powerisers, so the pad is similar to mine, guess I'll be doing her bar pads too! plain black will probably go down pretty good I reckon! I'll ask if she definately wants a pair, and let you know! My gf and I are having a long bocking session on sunday, so we get to be comfortable and secure until we're knackered! ;D

Hi, i'm new here, just got my PJ's today, but have been using a set for four weeks. I might have to give you a shout sometime about a set of these Pinhead, they look great, and a damn site more secure than the standard straps.

Just got Pinhead's straps and they work great! Much quicker than wrapping generic straps round and round. Also very nicely made, Pinhead. You did a great job on them. They look very professional. Thanks again. They will help me a lot!

once you are used to adjusting them its cool...
although, if you get your pads and straps always in
the same place, you should never have to adjust them
ever again... unless you buy new pads etc etc...
now you will feel more secure... sooooo go get jumping :-)

i use polypropelene webbing...its breaking strain is nuts :-)
it can toe a car....
it is 25mm with pads attatched... very heavily stitched...
the centre strap can be 30mm if desired
even my sister who is good on a machine cant make them lol...
well...not to my standard anyhows hehe

i have to order in especially...as..... someone else...may not want that colour... so i end up with a load of wasted webbing....
they do sell 5m rolls which will just do a pair of straps...(around £4.50)
sounds mad huh...
but...there are 4 lengths at 33 1/2 inches 2 centre straps at 15 inches...a wopping total of 164 inches... hence a 5m roll...
now your with me eh.....
anyhows.... stock coming thursday....

If you read all the 5 pages you may understand how long it takes to make one, add the cost of buckles etc and you'll realise you are getting a bargain :P

first i buy the stock...the webbing...3 different types of buckle...quick release, ladder locks and tri glides..then the
metal clips...this also includes the delivery they charge me on top of the price...
some are from usa sometimes...depending on what grade quick release i use... then i buy thread...strong thread..not cheap 75p each types...
then i buy felt at £17 a metre to cut up and actually make pads from scratch.... then i buy velcro for the pads..(now that stuff is expensive for what you get) then i have 3 hours to make them...stitching them heavily...not like most would stitch them..they are also glued and melted in parts for added strength...(i think urbantricker, kiola and all the other power stunt bockers appreciate that extra added reliability of them not falling appart)
then..i have to buy tape to pack them up..spend another £1 on an envelope...then spend another £1.50 to deliver them to you
it all adds up to...i make £6 for all that work... which goes back into buying more stock... not to mention..you under 16's get them at £18...i didnt have to do that..but did...
so you see... it isnt really worth me making them really is it...

Hello, I have just tried to leave feedback for pinhead as I have brought some of his straps, but once I had filled the form in and submitted it, the next page just said an error had occured and would not be added untill it was authorised. Does any one know why this happened, did I fill it in wrong?

Their a pain to adjust !
OK once set that's it (if you can set them ) !?
The problem is it doesn't matter how much I adjust them the clips digs into the side of my legs and their still not tight !?

To clarify this a little
I have seen Pinheads straps and they are very well made and I have never heard of anyone not being happy with them (sadley he seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth)
I have seen the 7 ones and they do work but they arn't Pins ones and I couldn't find a way to attach them to the knee bar without them being uncomfortable ( for me at any rate )

I spoke to trip about his straps at a norwich meet. There are a couple of different ones I have seen about. Old and new. I think the old ones are made by pinhead but trip said the straps were made in a place in norwich for him.

yeah they adjust fine, you just gotta use a bit of matter dude...they fit fatty to skeletal...within reason...otherwise, they have to be made special, for really special people... INIT which is no problem.......

dk, you really need to take time adjusting them...
if they are my ones, they should work fine...even if you have big calfs... i will check em at cb, see what i can do....
they are awkward to adjust if you dont take the pad off...
but hey, ive had practice...
ive got 12 pairs made for cb....
4 have already gone....so get in quick peeps...
i also have made a new version...not that it needed it but...
this one is actually doubled up...reinforced if you like...with mega heavy duty buckles.... this is more for your flipper and extreme types really....hence the name extreme elites....
elites being the name of mine trip ! lol
i dont make them for you anymore....pfffff
anyhows....
i have made now...and ready....
7 all black....2 yellow/black c....1 black/red c...1 pink/black c

I've just ordered some yellow and black straps from Pinhead69 and I can't wait to get them. My normal straps broke really easily so I decided to replace them with Pinhead69's better version.

After seeing a number of people at CB using these types of straps I can see why a lot of people like them. If your not happy with the knee hoop straps and don't want to use or like cuffs these could be use full they real hold your leg in the hoop.
There's always one though that as to be different ( naming no names ) they can bock strapless :o :Dark_Knight:

you could either look out for second hand wetsuits sometimes r in the paper for a £5 or so, other wise look out for old neoprene kayakking spray decks they come up cheap on ebay =]
or look into fabric shops maybe ordering some in ??

i'd already checked the little wet suits out guys..
i need a constant supply of the same colour if i did them...
the shops vary and dont always stock the same colours and the thicknesses alter aswell....
as for the suppliers to the shops, they only import in and then sell them on... trying to track the first source is a pain...
generally in korea china etc... i need metre by metre lengths..
help me ob1....your my only hope...

few updated pics on page 1 of the extreme elite version...
the mod god createth yet another willy shifting mod... ;-)
they look similar in a pic, but oh they sooooo aint to touch...
pics dont do them justice as they were taken on a phone, but
you get an idea...they are doubled up on the underside with more webbing of a different colour...the buckles are super strength, they dont come any stronger than these babies...but i may also use the curved type on these also..my other style does exactly the same job... rather like a rain mac and an abercrombie, they both keep you dry, but one is much cooler looking and stronger...thats it....
but i made these for the constant trick and flippers to put up with their abuse....who just want to go over the top just incase....

EXTREME ELITES...08/08
ive added a few pics of the super strong extreme version...
they have a very strong release buckle and the underside is doubled up with 2 layers of webbing..the pink are beckys new ones and the blue and black with red underside are now allllll mine ;-)
excuse the pic quality as it was done on my phone...the pics really dont do them justice...they look similar in appearance from the front other than extra stitching showing, but they sooo dont to the touch....they are as stiff as me in the morning....and can take a real bashing.... damn thats almost porn....
you can see on the underside pictures,
i can stitch like a b***h... ;-) but this version does take longer and will reflect in their price...TBA
flying monkey has a pair of red/black, becky the pink/black so ask them what they think of the stronger version...
my opinion is, they will work exactly the same as the others,with the only exception, they can take more abuse...

just a few pics of the leather pads for the extreme
elite version straps, the pics are bad quality and dont
really show how nice they look, but still..
i used thick leather and stitched red felt to the under side
for extra padding...
and while i was at it, i thought i would cover the spring in leather too
its attatched via velcro and its a neat and tight fit with no ripples or folds on the underside...yet again, pics dont do it justice...

i think ive got enough for around another 25 pairs which would make the 400
mark overall...
also, my second pair of fully moded hardly used 7's MAY go under the hammer,including footplate protector,leather spring cover,extreme straps with leather pads,tie up socks,grip tape,top quality thick padded bindings plus spares... still a maybe though...
so.. if you need some straps.. remember to get in early...

Has you know I don't need them on the normal small knee bars but I've them with the S-Rex and I can see why people love them.
I did have problems setting the ones I got second hand but once you find the right setting that's it ready for next time. :thumbs:

motorbikes and bocks dont go see lol....to be honest, i never got much chance to use them at meets anyhows...i was to busy setting people up with straps, which i liked...i got a buzz from helping to improve peoples bocking..
and the less i practiced it was like starting again almost, never stop lol....
i could create videos exactly how to make stuff in detail
sizes, lengths, ammount of stitching needed, and where, step by step...
they are not hard if you know exactly how and all the sizes....
buying bulk is expensive for me, and i have to buy bulk to keep prices down....
as you know i dont use crap stuff....and some things are from usa also...
if you made them yourself, you havnt got post and packaging costs to add, you dont have to take into account of bulk orders delivered to you, and what percentage of that to add on, or what paypal will take off you for its convienience.... it all adds up... you all could make perfect copies for around £14 using good stuff.
buying in bulk i can make upto 50 pairs a time...but if only 1 person a week wants some, im left all year round with no dining table as its covered in my buckles etc.....plus a bank waiting to get back what i'd spent
but saying that, already, 4 of you want some, hmmnnnn dont panic, your sorted...
its all thinking out loud at the minute, and obviously if someone is really stuck i would do some for them without question....
people from usa want some, that makes me feel bad, as our prices here of materials and things suck bigtime...
if i lived in usa i could make them half the price, but yet they still ask....
so video's would help in that way...its never been about profit only helping a sport get more enjoyable and easier.... they have helped people jump higher and also flip for the first time, but thats not down to the straps as such, its the extra confidence they give you as you feel more secure, they just helped you get there....you did the work.....
not to mention cuffs are coming on, although i still prefer the added protection of a bar, eventually i think cuffs will be the way to go, one with a knee cup protector would be good, work on that ;-)

in answer to all your questions
yeah i will always be making them, i wont stop as long as they are still helping bocking...
i havnt been on much lately due to being ill, but i always pop
on to check, more so now as im feeling better than i did
and i always get e-mail notifications by the truck load lol to remind me..
the only thing i wont be doing is ordering in bulk stock
which means, that if people want them, i will have to order stuff in
making the process a little longer thats all, paypal now takes
5 to 6 days to clear anyhow...
i do have stock left but im running low on buckles
so i will need to check what i have left before i confirm to you all...
people who have contacted me first will be sorted in that order
as its only fair, i will contact you when i know what i have....
quite a few of you have asked for the leather spring covers
(initial idea spotted from jasons stilts, although i didnt get to check em out
at CB as i got side tracked and forgot, but i think he had some kind of material stuck around em) ask him to....
i must admit, they do look better than the pics ive posted show, you can also paint logos down them or embroid them too....
and they protect to a degree, but more so, hide that horrid yellow spring cover on the 7's...too much yellow is sickly.....
but i actually dont sell them, as leather that size is expensive to buy,
(i used my old biker leathers, but you could pick up an old jacket from an oxfam type shop, then you could make at least 2 to 3 pairs depending what jacket it was lol)
but i can always send a pattern to you if you want to make some desperately...better with straps as it dont cost me then lol...
a hundred mails down the line if you get my point....
the hardest part was getting the sizes to fit tight, and thats all done
by sending you a pattern to draw around and cut out...
you would only have to stitch velcro down the 2 sides where i have marked the pattern, they are easy to do honest...
they were made to fit a 7's spring though, and i dont really know if the spring sizes differ much in the brands, i think a pro jump is narrower at the top, and due to a 7's thick cover around it.... in which case, i dont have a spring to make another pattern...but jason will know that size no doubt...

pinny, i made some furry spring covers and you have to be careful and make sure they are nice and tight as i found out all springs vary in size. but i have got a template if anyone wants to know what size i made mine.

How much do you invisage the elite straps going up to? If there above £25, then I might just pay the extra £20 an get a set of Calf Cuffs stright away... It would make more sence for me to do that..
Although still wouldnt mind the pattern for the leather covers ;O)

all types and prices...
the straps speak for themselves, thats why uk's best and alot of
flippers use them...but also, some use cuffs...
its all a personal preference really, some like cuffs, some dont....
its not for me to say what is or isnt best..i only know what i like....
if you are unsure, you should try some cuffs out like i did, if you like them
their is no need to try the straps...

out of red at the minute folks...
i still have blue, yellow, black, rainbow, and any combination of those...
all colours are generally fitted with a black centre strap to hide the dirt on falls etc as its more practical...
except the rainbow straps which are all multi coloured....looks better for that colour....
i can also make leather pads for the standard elite version by request
they are bling and are much much better and proffesional looking, but they cost more to make obviously, as i back them in felt aswell to pad them....all depends on your pocket INIT...
all felt pads are velcro'd both sides as some old versions wasnt
because they still attatched well, but if you keep undoing them, they wear quicker i noticed, so both sides are needed... it was originaly time saving, but not really being practical on my part....time saves money for both parties, and all that jazz....especially when your making 20 pairs...
the last 40 or so ive made have been the double velcro pads
so its cool.... although i use leather ;-) cus i can ....

I've been out a few times now an have noticed when I've been out for a long time the strap I have come's loose... Also my friend had the calf cuffs, so I decided to try them, glad I took your advice - "Try Before you Buy!" I didn't get on with them at all! They felt really loose, however may just have been his cuffs..
If possiable any chance of getting the straps for the meet in Feb?

right then, firstly, yes i still make straps as not all get on with the cuff....
as you all know, i'm kinda not a big fan of cuffs, pahhhh
thats why i invented the straps etc, but i think cuffs are, or will be
the way to go when one is completely sturdy, doesnt wear at the bolt, tightens well and doesnt slip, and is adjustable to fit slim legs
these are things i have heard from numerous people, and i also think the same.. yes, some of you are happy with yours
and some have had to adapt things to become happy with them...
but most are not happy straight out of the box....
but after trying quite a few, and seeing what teething problems
they create im going to MAKE SOME....
what made me do this was, ive just purchased a pair of CUFFS
yes i did say it, CUFFS, i had to try the latest offerings to see what they were like....hmnnnnnn
and as my leg is slim, i cant get them tight, the outer skin is too big
for me to pull it where i want it, the ends meet before this happens
and also the velcro has to wrap over my bar which is just crap...
and my first major gripe on opening them was,
(and this is what most big companies do to keep prices low or gain extra profit) but not all i suppose...(theres my cover)
they are stitched by (but not in all cases) (ditto)
tyeng dum nipple, or, gupty tanka dimash potatoe, for next to nothing, (names are purely ficticious and bare no resemblance to anyone whatsoever, well lets hope not lol) poor them if it is...
this is part of the reason why some fall appart, and if they dont, they still look nasty....a little extra care and time would go a long way, why rush something, especially when sales are not 1 an hour

now i have designed upto 4 different types, i didnt realise how easy they were to make, woohoo, that shocks me all the more, what people charge for them, except pro jump, they did reduce to a cant grumble price, and considering you get bars in that cost etc, fair doo's....anyhows.....
1 is just a better quality made version of what we know already but has no chance of coming loose as its fastening method is different and i think tidier looking...alot of you know how neat my work is
so you will kind of know what the outcome will be like....
the others are kind of prototypes lol...with various methods of padding out and locking them tight, yes you can add or remove padding to your liking with some of them... its all built into the cuff
theyre also not completely black, there are options to add colour
of your choice in some areas...
when ive decided what model, and a few of team sky high have tested them to the max, i will post pictures...
and should after seeing them, pro jump or 7's want the design,
because it will be an improvement trust me.. i will gladly help you, after all, its the recognition i like, not the profit...but you better stitch em nice ;-)

right, a cuff is made ;-) its stitched NEAT
it wont fall appart, its stronger too....it also is shaped
slightly different, not that that matters, but hey, it looks better...
its based on a standard cuff but has
quite a few changes pinhead stylie, it has a 3 way interchangable pad system, to adjust to suit the user, it tapers at the back
at both top and bottom, it fastens better
it has options to add or remove padding
it will fit even the thinnest of legs....it looks tidy and how they should be made,
i have many versions on the go, including
double quick release, binding ratchet, and a secret one lol... etc, but what you have to remember is,
even if you have a quick release, the strap to the one end
still has to be adjustable, which means there are still
ways it may come loose, but not if ive got anything to do
with it, it wont ;-)
also there isnt much side room for a buckle, which means it would
come near the front, although generally, the knee impacts not the cuff
itself....

Hey :) I am no expert on this. But I have skinny legs and have tried a couple of pairs off cuffs. I now have projump cuffs. I am happy with them but to say that there is a perfect cuff on the market atm would be a lie.
I am not suggesting stuff here. But just saying what kinda things I dont like about cuffs. If I am honest, I was happy with the knee bar. With webbing they were perfect. I decided to get cuffs they did feel nice to use. I would have got your straps if I didnt go for cuffs.
When I first put my cuffs on, before I had even set them up I was a little sad :( Black is so boring. I had stripy knee bars and I really liked it that way. The cuffs are not really easily customizable. It would be really good to have cuffs in other colours like red :biggrin: :biggrin:
If I didnt wear the knee/shin pads the cuffs would be too small. At the mo they cant be any thinner, because they would have a kinda gap at the almost "corners" of the cuffs. They are set up ok now, if they were thinner they would be too thin for me but I do need the kneepad on, which is fine. I like wearing those knee pads
I have used both PJ and 7s cuffs, neither are perfect. the 7's ones lack padding and are not as comfortable. I am not sure if this is to do with the tapered back part or what. I think if the back is tapered it needs a certain amount of padding. And they dont have it. However, I like the way you do them up better on the 7's. The PJ method is growing on me. Although they are both the same really but 7's have D rings and PJ's have the other weird thing. Its just harder with the PJ cuffs and I always break my nails undoing them :D
And thats all I have to say about cuffs. I like them, a little more than the knee bars but I think the design is far from perfected so i think it is great something is being done. A step forward ;)

ok firstly spud, i know exactly what you mean,
ive bought some as i said, but was dissapointed and decided to make
some myself... today i finished the design im intending to do
it looks different and is well stitched lol...
without going through everything thats on them, and there is a lot

i tried them on this morning, OMG they didnt move, felt really comfy
and the best bit, it felt like i was using a bar still ;-) honestly...

ive actually removed what everyone hates about cuffs
i never attempt to do something unless i know i can better it
and ive gotta say, i knew they would be
nice and neat strong etc cause im a fussy git, but, i never expected them to turn out as good, ive made a 3 way interchangable internal pad system, posh huh, ok the chav description, theres 3, you can change them, and theyre inside,,, each pad can be removed or changed, made bigger, made smaller, washed, or put in your bra....
this gives the option to fit even the skinniest of legs, but also the way ive designed and placed the buckle loops, that also helps,but will explain more when the pics go up.......youll see then...
did i say they had thick padding ;-)

i will be making these for people, either for just the cuff part
or i can eventually, supply the bars and the metal bracket
but you can try them at meets first, im that confident, you'll run away with them, but dont, i kill you....
as i said, yesterday i was still a bar man, today ive shocked myself
i do believe ive changed the cuff to another level, they feel like no other....
i will also keep prices as low as i can, its recognition i want, not profit, but just enough to keep stock rolling in so i can make more....
but give me time, they take ages....

thats originally what i was going to improve on, with a bit more comfort thats it, but i stumbled onto a winner in the process
its shocked but excited me, it really really works well....
down side is, ive missed 2 days sleep, i'd put my head down, and then think of something else i could do with them..... but know im complete, and going to BED nite nite ;-)

When you get Cuffs to fit properly they are so comfy and feel much safer than the bar
I found that although my homemade ones were perfect they were a pain to make and the cost of producing them would have made them to expensive for most
Cutting, flattening and drilling the bars and making the shaped washer was time consuming but I just don't like the wide ends on the bars (just fussy I guess)
I can't wait for the Pics get that camera going mate and stop keeping us all in suspenders :Claugh:

if so is it all tightly secured to the stilts and put together right if so check that it is pushing ur leg intothe bar one on ur knee one on ur calf if its still feels loose then try gettin someone to help u that has them :P like me XD

is the strap coming in an X in-front of the knee-bar? it should come from in-front of the knee-bar, go straight round your leg at the back, and come down the front again.
The strap shouldn't be entirely inside the knee-bar, as that doesnt hold your leg to anything solid...
the front of the knee-bar should look like an X with a | through it where the strap is held on, not a | with the strap INSIDE the knee-bar...
I feel like i repeated myself a lot there, which i probably did. If it explained the problem to you, no worries. If not, post a picture, and we'll tell you what's wrong.

i reply all the time, IF i get the message..
i havnt been on for the reason i wasnt able to make any
due to trapping a tendon in my shoulder restricting arm movement.
incredibly painfull and still ongoing till my opp on it, but i can manage to sew
now n then.
if i had come on, i would be getting orders i couldnt do, and rather saying no
i stayed away until able to do so.
people can get hold of me, so i wasnt aware until rescently...
now i see callums had difficulties with his, they do adjust dude
and thats all it is, its hard to describe in txt format but ive done as best i could
in the fitting instructions and pics. some people can suss it straight away
some not so quick. they are all made the same and ive never had a problem
just takes a bit of thought, not frustration and over eagerness. simplezzzzz
when i send them out, they are folded and the flap is sometimes tucked under the pad
for neatness, so its hidden away, they just dont adjust through the buckles, you have to
feed through the buckles, they work just like a belt would. tight feed through, loosen feed back through.

Pinhead has officially retired from bocking, and from making straps
I haven't spoke to him since November and I knew that then he was having troubles
with his PC and lost his phone charger. If you are desparate and still want to get in contact with him, the best person to ask is Nero .... Although don't even know if Nero is in contact with him. Good luck. His straps are good.

I doubt it :/ But why not just try it?
Anyway, why can't you get them tight enough? There is so much adjustment. You can move the bars close together. Overlap the velcro under the padding at the back & wearing knee/shin pads helps too. The cuffs can be hard to get tight at first but if you pull the strap towards yourself and the floor (up and down) while you tighten it it works much better and you can get them very tight this way.

Anyway, why can't you get them tight enough? There is so much adjustment. You can move the bars close together. Overlap the velcro under the padding at the back & wearing knee/shin pads helps too. The cuffs can be hard to get tight at first but if you pull the strap towards yourself and the floor (up and down) while you tighten it it works much better and you can get them very tight this way.

Well i think i have put it at the tightest, everything is overlapping and the bars are like really close as well. the problem with my pads is that i have the small ones (not the long shin ones) so the end like where the cuff starts..which is a pain. i will need to spend a weekend adjusting everything but i will try!
