Title: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: webmaster on January 25, 2008, 03:22:17 PM
As the manufacturer develops the stilts, the Pro-Jump has evolved and changes have been made to it. The following charts try to show the changes so it will be easy for you to check which version you have. All the research has been carried out by me, and there could be some errors, if you spot any let me know & I'll update it as / when I can. Also need to add a picture of the back of the footplate on one of the versions so will have that soon.

These charts may be applicable to other brands who are made by the same manufacturers but they could have had some stilts / parts in between or after which may not be on these charts.

A special thanks to all who have given me info, pictures and pointers on this.

UPDATE:
V7 model = Same as V6 but has twin D links for the knee bar straps (came in red boxes)
V8 model = Introduced in July 2009, Same as V7 but comes with a full metal lower spring foot bracket without a gap between the two bolts (new black & white box with powerbockers on)
V8+ model = Introduced in July 2009, Same as the V8 model minus the knee bar & Standard bindings but with a calf cuff and Pro-Bindings (new black & white box with powerbockers on)

You missed out MOD'ed ( those with different spring,hoof and ... frames )  :)

What's left is V4's but brought V5's hoofs ( a lot better idea and easy to MOD  ;) )

Click to enlarge the image Rob, also V3's had this kind of metal tube, which is flatter on one side & no plastic shock absorbers at the joint thats at the top of the metal hoof.

V2's had a rounder metal tube, which blck plastic over them & brass bushings!

I have V3s but no idea on what generation

Ok thats the thing, forget about all the stuff you heard about GEN1's and GEN2's these are all the Pro-Jumps that came out so its now you having to decide which version you have!

The Gen1 and Gen2 talk before was slightly inaccurate!

Ok so what versions require which generations of hoofs?

On the projump site for spares it says for now Gen1 - indented & Gen2 - straight but that will be updated to either just "Indented" or "Straight" and pictures as soon as I get a chance  :-[

Replacement feet will be will be the newer feet in the future as they will be interchangable.

I doubt you will need to change your feet anytime soon, the feet you have are very good and the rubber should last you too, also if you wear tyre socks they will prolong their life further.

I have tire socks...Was just wondering really. The whole thing was confusing reli. Nutta though he had gen 2's but had gen 1 feet and gen 2 hoofs and I was opposite with wat he though were gen 1's
Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: webmaster on January 25, 2008, 11:02:38 PM
To be honest the whole "Gen 1" & "Gen 2" theories confused a lot of people, there was a lot of inaccuracies and most of it was just speculation.  As you can see there's about 6 versions of pro-jumps so you could call it 6 gens... so in the 2 gen theory you missing a lot of detail out!!!

For spares easiest way to determine what you need is check which version of Pro-Jumps you have and cross reference it with the hoofs you had then ask yourself two questions:

1. "was it straight or did it have a bend in them?" and
2. "are they the bolt on ones or not?"

And if you need help I'm always here ;)

Ok more confused! My foot pat is straight but the hoof looks like the gen 1 type hoof
Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: webmaster on January 26, 2008, 12:16:29 AM
Thats why I'm saying forget about the Gen1 / Gen2 theory, think of it as either indented or straight, if you get a picture up for me I'll tell you what you have & need ;)

Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: webmaster on January 26, 2008, 12:55:25 AM
How to tell if they are V5 or V6 is if you look at the hoofs, the V5 ones the metal sole plate doesnt fully cover the rubber, but on the V6 the metal sole plate is about longer so the whole rubber part is covered up!

Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: chocl8 on February 05, 2008, 08:59:54 PM
I have a tad problem, i have the feet below...which according to the table of hooves, Pro jump have never sold as spares or as a full pro-jump. They came with the original Pro-jumps i bought. I only ask because of the rubber tab at the top ( i presume this was pre white spacer?) Anyhoo my question is, brought some raptor springs and because of the rubber flap attached to the hoof, the holes don't line up to put the bolt through, so if i cut off/removed the rubber flap would this damage the springs in any way? As prev/current versions of the hoof have no rubber I also notice that the 7's springs don't have any rubber covering where this part is. Any help....plz?  :)

How long have you had them changed? And do you have the same hoof?
Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: hybrid_hex on February 05, 2008, 09:07:56 PM
Fitted them at the start of December, Im not sure if its the same hoof, but as soon as I trimed the top tab (held on by two rivets) then they fitted and worked fine! Ive used them loads, in nice hot places!! hehe!  :nana: :nana:

Good, well sounds like it shouldn't be a problem, i might try and fit a thinner piece in instead, don'y want to wreck my new £130 springs... :(
Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: webmaster on February 05, 2008, 09:39:11 PM
Aghh I was sure I covered everything, never seen a pro-jump with the extra metal tab across the top so I think you may have a rogue pair  :o  I even checked with the parts guy, and he was certain we never sold any with the extra tab  :-\

Anyway the rubber bit comes with all pro-jumps, and you should be able to take it off, but make sure with Trip first thou as he should be able to help.

Now am gonna use these to full advantage, try all my mods and any upgrades on these ones... try different socks an basically give them all-round grief! Like last night-! I was practising the art - - - of falling down and slipping! lol (which is kinda hard to do btw)

and once they break!...

For just 200 quid I can upgrade to PoweriZer 2008 M7090 model!!
cant wait... an another thing!... as soon as I get em im sticking tyre covers over me new springs... nearly trashed mine wiv all the little knicks n scratches!!!

All thanx to this site tho for inspiration...

There would be no point in upgrading to a poweriZer but if he means PoweriSer then they have the calf cuffs. I am guessng he was on about the poweriSers

all of the pro jump versions I have seen on ere all have the kneebar... on streetgadgets.com they sell powerizers, the 2008 model wiv calf cuffs and at a lighter weight... some would say poweriSer and some wud say poweriZer but for 199 quid I say they're in line wiv pro jump pricing... as its same manufacturer...

I think lol

Remember the S and the Z

PoweriSer with a S sell the ones with a cuff rather than a knee bar not PoweriZer,

PoweriSer are made by a different manufacturer

You can send PMs by clicking on peoples profiles and there is a "send message" thing there somewhere, get to profiles by clicking names. You inbox is below where it says "hey jumpinjack" (unless you manage to break it like me  :D)

Trixter stopped bocking for a bit and doesnt come online anymore. He will come back soon I think  ;) I will prod him about it later, when we got some meets going.

Why not post a picture?  Cos how else r we to know which 1 either? :Csmile:

Rite  wots diff between stilts?

Ruff potted history

Herr Boeck invented spring loaded stilts and still to this day markets 'powerskips'.... cost erm about £750-850   depending on model and value of pound v euro

PoweriSers came along, a much cheaper 'high street' version and a very nice pair of stilts. Later came the '08 version that had the 'calf cuff'  but this was accompanied with a percived lowering in quality of the stilts ( they changed factory at this point I believe). Dunno if this has been sorted yet. The product has a much lower profile in this country now.

Pro Jumps. Now these stilts are sold under a range of names around the world. This is cos a load of companies buy them from the same factory and sell them themselves. Projump, jolly jumpers, poweriZers, flyjumpers  are 1's i can recall.

At 1st percieved to be of lower quality to poweriSers, but cheaper. This has Id say gone with developments and modifications over the last few years.

7 league, more expensive than the above 2  but , in general, harder wearing. Again  its profile has greatly deminished of late ( the major dealer withdrew from the market) . I think a couple of wrong decisions have been made on later modifications . But a nice pair of stilts ( indeed its wot I use....tho I won um un didnt pay for um :Claugh:)

Skyrunners, cheapest of the lot....but lets not go there as they r illeagal in this country .

Up to this point  poweriSers, projumps  ( and name variations) and 7 league  parts all pretty much interchangerble. performance btw  about the same. Then pro jump introduced a new hoof design, which only fits the specific pro jump model ( think I got that right) . Also there is a totally new pro jump model on way with almost no compatability to other makes or models.

So unless we know what poweriZer hoof you have....cant sAY  what 1 to replace with

help?

un Im sure im wrong in a few bits above...soz in advance

and why are Skyrunners banned here?
Title: Re: How to spot what Pro-Jump version you have
Post by: Bbmthbloke on June 22, 2010, 11:41:44 AM
basically yeah,  tho with new models   more differences.

skyrunners illeagal cos they do not pay royalties to the inventor
