what do the new bindings look like Naz?
Title: Re: Pro-Jump Cuffs, Upgraded bindings and Set deal pricing info...
Post by: XS on October 09, 2008, 06:00:57 PM
if they're the same as the ones that were posted from powerstrider on PP this morning they're the same as the Poweriser 08 bingings or Evo 2's from 7's

i wonder how many competing brands i can put in one post and have it make perfect sense? :P

Do the cuffs use regular PJ brackets, or metal ones like the 08's?

Have they been tested on any other stilts? e.g. 7leagues

we haven't but Jason has...

heres what he said in another thread:

I have fitted Cuffs to 7's on 2 ocations and you will need to get a set of the Pro-jump clamps (just the plastic bits but it might be worth getting the bolts as well)

The plastic clamps on the 7's are very thin and seem to be made of a softer plastic and when I tried to tighten them enough to stop the bars moving they just distorted but the Pro-jump ones are made of sterner stuff and seem to hold the bars well

The cuffs are bolted to the bar with a large washer on the inside so they shouldn't part company and if you did put enough stress on them to break the bolt I think you would have busted you leg by that time  :haha:

The bars are so close to your leg you won't impail yourself on them and if you have thin legs they make it a lot easier than the hoops as you can put them closer together so you don't have to walk bow legged

Haha cuffs are only £25 more than I paid 18 months ago. I'd say that's an ok return for the amount of time I've had them. I just got stung on shipping from Germany ;D
EVO-2 Bindings are cheaper than 7's! That's always a plus :)

Looking forwards to these being released Naz, well done on getting the low prices

The bars are so close to your leg you won't impail yourself on them and if you have thin legs they make it a lot easier than the hoops as you can put them closer together so you don't have to walk bow legged
And people wondered why I prefer cuffs to 7's kneebars! Here's why, cuz I have skinny legs! :D

Anyway... spot the difference:

I think it will be easy to tell the difference. The guy sitting down with his stillts in bits will be the Powerizer 08's from what I've heard recently  :haha:

God it's nice to be able to say that about another brand of stilts  after all the flack PJ's have taken (my first pair are still in use after 2 years  ) admitedly with a few repairs and a new set of springs

They are in stock but the delivery was fairly late due to an accident on the M6. They should be sorted through by tomorrow and available to buy then.
I didn't want to list them on the site before checking the stock first.

Thats only the Pro-jump ones Carl when I tried it with a set of 7 ones they were very soft and although they held you had to distort them badly and I wouldn't trust them

The Pro-jump brackets are available (I believe [correct me if I'm wrong Naz]) from the Pro-jump Guys  and are a lot stronger Ricky I have used them and as I weigh 17st thats a fairly good test  :haha:

only on projumps though as Trip ( 7's dealer) and jason have both recommended you shouldnt use them with the 7's plastic. You could buy the Pro-jump ones or PoweriSer metal ones from them directly

Had the cuff's on almost 3 weeks now and one of my springs has gone crack so i need to buy a new set of springs  >:(

its costing me a load of money and atm i cant afford new springs so i have to use my friends stilts lol but apart from the spring problems the cuff's and bindings make a difference to pro-jumps.

Like this?
Pushes the other brighter colours out too much, and the contrast screws it up a bit.

Personally, I'd use the colour replace tool and replace all the shades in the BG with white. Like so:

As far as I know 7's don't do metal ones Ricky
The only people that did ally ones were the new Powerizers (few proplems with then I heard )

I have 4 sets of Cuffs (one on each set of PJ's ) and they are all held on with the PJ plastic ones and so far I've not had one slip or move even when Chocl8 was 8ft in the air and doing backflips on them ( that still haunts my dreams  the fear of someone doing that on something I had built )

So I would just call PJ and use them

7's do metal holders, it was posted earlier this week on PP with photos of the new 7's cuffs as well. Trip is sending me and Tim some of the metal holders to replace my battered riSer ones and Tim's plastic PJ holders. The poweriSer cuffs are fine, mine are going almost 2 years on and perfectly fine (The ones I had at walk for life), and the newer C-shaped holders are really good (The old riSer ones sent out with the first ones ever released were L shaped and thin/weak - these are what mine are).

The poweriZer cuffs are the same as the PJ ones :nana:
