Got my registration form thru for this last week, it was great fun in 08, who is up for a 2009 outing??

Date : Sunday 7th June 2009
Starting Point: Potters Fields Park (that big bit of park between Tower Bridge and City Hall. You can’t miss it.)
Fun Level: If previous years are anything to go by, this will be high.
Train: Ideal for anyone coming from South London. London Bridge is the nearest overland train station.
Nearest Tube: London Bridge (on the Northern and Jubilee lines) is the nearest station. And if you fancy a morning stroll over Tower Bridge, then Tower Hill station (on the Circle and District lines) is also close.
Nearest Buses: London Bridge bus station is a major terminus from all directions on the east side of London, so buses are a very good option. Click here for more information about routes and times.
Parking: There are parking facilities nearby (click here for details) but we strongly recommend that you stick to public transport. It’ll be easier and a LOT cheaper.
Check in Time: From 10am ’til 11.30am
Route: Starting and finishing in Potters Fields Park, the 10km route will take in many of London’s most famous sights.
Whether you’re striding, toddling, ambling, rolling or strolling, the walk should take you around two or three hours. We do however suggest that you aim to cross the line by 3.00pm, as that’s when the afternoon’s live entertainment begins – and you won’t want to miss it.

Thanks for putting up all the relevant information i think you have mentioned most things, all we need to do now is arrange times to meet up etc etc. As like last year and the year before we had to let the organiser know of our plans and also we need to start before everyone else, so we dont stomp on people or little girls (tok) lol, she was ok, just a bit scared by what he was wearing i think! It would be good if we could join together as a group, 'Bocker for Life' is our known team name so i think we should keep it. and it looks like i may not be able to come, uni accomodation ends at the end of may, and i don't move into next years house till august, so quite possible i'll be in the middle of wales (just over 5 hour journey)...bummer

Whatever you say Darf, only me and other people have done it before and it is knackering, we are stopping every 5 minutes to show spectators tricks, jumps, flips and having photos taken. The last 2 years have been very warm days too and that just adds to the process of getting knackered. Come along and put your money where your mouth is, please! I dont see many people have joined the group yet, get on it people! jelly x

PMPLMFAO!!! There is no way on earth you will be moderately jogging the whole way around WITHOUT STOPPING for many many breaks. I know super fit people who wouldnt be able to accomplish what you are promising. Plus its a sponsored walk, not run or jog. So you go ahead and the rest of us will be responsible and do what we have done for the last few years! No PIZZAHUT this year but defo need to eat afterwards maybe a pub lunch or something. jelly x

Ok I may have a problem, I have to go for an operation, I've been told around mid May, which will see me unable to move my shoulder at all for a month! Thats right, arm strapped to my body 24/7 for four weeks...
After this time I should imagine that it's gonna take a looooong time to get any movement or strength in it.
So yeah, looks like I may not be able to make this :(

Ive been getting people at work to sponsor me and my boss really liked the idea and asked me to contact the people who are organizing walk for life to see if they want some animated adverts :Cwideeyed:

Yep were 20 last year. If you have never seen a man wearing a dress made out of flip flops ( and matching hand bag) you gotta get here. I hadnt, then 3 turned up at once!!
It may sound mad, but this is a seriously well organised avent. water is supplied beginning middle and end, the goody bag is much better than Sports mile ( Im still playing the dance CD I got 2 years ago) there is a fun warm up work out ( think aerobics on bocks ---if you cant there is a vid around somewhere). Then entertainment at the end. Poor ET the 1st year could not be convinced that it was a lookalike George Micheal and not the real thing, dispite the fact that he looked like a GM of 15-20 years ago :Ctwitcy:
Tok has mentioned dressing up. Anyone thought maybe a 'theme' for us all. Cowboy and Indians? Just need the hats or fairy wings?
Great cause, great day and a great way to see parts of London. OOO un did I forget to mention the Pimm's? We try to stop for a Pimm's brake a lil after the halfway point :Cnotworthy:
But do remember it is 10 Km and 'if' the weather is hot , it is tuff work. So if I may be so bold, keep kit to a min , no back packs suitable for a bock up Kilamanjaro ( the 1st year of this- the only Sunday I think to get and stay in the 70's, some 1 bought a fleece with um!)
Oh, and if the weather is fine and dandy, dont you think bringing water pistols along would constitute a public serice?.
Are we planning a pizza or somat after ( obviously not the one we used last year :Crealmad:). ONe near the finish would be good, then I can just bock back to Waterloo and dont need to get a tube ticket :Cbiggrin:

There is a chance I'll not be coming after all ? If I did come :-
I'd be planing to park at c*ckfosters and take the tube in London. I believe that all day parking is just a couple of pound and even if you add the price of a return tube ticket is still worth it as it would save battling your way through London traffic.
The tube takes about 40 minuets and coupled with the short walk to the field would mean that you be at the start/end field is only an hour away.
The first tube leaves c*ckfosters at around 8am so would mean if you took that one you'd be there for about 9am.
That basically my plan on how I'd get there !

If the forecast is rain then I'm not gonna be there as I can't and won't bock in the wet and this event is just over a week before I fly to Mexico for my fabby Maya ruins trek, so I'm NOT going to risk slippage/limb damage before my holiday!

re rain, id say dont worry. my forecast has about 5mm of rain in the 7 hours leading up 2 the start. So the journey in will seem pretty miserable. But frankly with air temps that we have at the moment, this stuff will evaporate pretty damn quick. As peeps like Paul Self who came to the Portsmouth bank hol meet will testify. Woke up to miserable rain, by 11 pavements were dry as a bone.
I think there will be a few speks again just after we finish 1600 onwards. So Id say please do come. But yep the trek sounds fab ( gonna do it on bocks?) un if you unsure you still have 24 hours to think mayb a bit more.

In all fairness I could walk 10k on those springs. But doing anything more is not so good. I have some M90 springs too but it's much the same story. Point is I could do it if bocks were the only issue. It just happens to be the only pebble on the beach I have highlighted.
It's a good cause so nice one too all of those doing it :)

OK well if this is the bar with holes ( round for pro jumps square for 7's) that at rest basically goes at a 45 degree angle from the top of the foot braket to the foot bar, well I got loads and a few spare, but only 1 unattached to any other bit. But its now on my coffee table.
I can quickly move it un put it on the sofa opposite which has everything Im taking to london tomorrow ( I mean everything, wallet pants and worthers originals included!)

What a Great day and the sun shone all the day untill we were walking back to the car
Led by General Jelly we yet again made it all the way round
And some of us got soaked even though it wasn't raining (sorry I missed the fountain Bexx :Claugh: I would have loved to see that )
Clive, Holly and I got accosted by a really nice young lady after you lot went forraging for food who took loads of pics of us so we might even come away with a good shot or two

I got to c*ckfosters 8am it was gray and raining heavy I posted that 30 minuets later the cloud where clearing !?
Everyone on the walk where given a yellow t-shirt to put but there's always one that has to be different ... Jason !?
I'd never done this walk before but 10km isn't that hard, has we did keep stopping for breaks, to show off, pose for pictures and a breather and answer questions. It's a "Fun walk" not a race and it set off in waves. We where over taken be some of the later groups but then again we past others who'd stop to have a meal, that didn't matter just that we did the 10Km.
It may not be a meet for everyone but you now have a year to get ready for the next one ( There will be another one ? ).
Jelly has found this great event that we are very welcome at. It's third year the bockers have done it. I hadn't even signed in but they'd said " You with the Bockers ? " which show they know what bocking is !?
There was 18 of us which was a good turn out. Well done every one of us we really earned our medals. :Cnotworthy:
I didn't take may pictures but I'll post them on my FaceBook ( Would take too long to past here ).
Jelly I had great day .... same time next year ? I may even enter the "wet t-shirt" competition :Ctwitcy:

I am sorry to say I think the terrible behavour of 'Gibbo' needs to be hilighted.
You may recall the video of him 'taking out' Paul Self and assumed it was a 1 off.
NO, I fear , as a 'flipper' , Gibbo has developed something of a 'celebrity personality' and took exception to the intrusive media attention.
But really, kicking a photographer in the belly with a hoof-whilst he was kneeling on the ground. Well that went just too far.

It was the awsomist meet !!! except for being quite cold after the run in with the fountin!
I was dead on my feet getting home, nearly fell off the steep escalators in the underground!
so glad the weather was a nice turn out! couldnt have done it without the sun. :Cnotworthy:

Hey hey, that was a great day yesterday. Shame those of you who were planning to come didnt, it was a lovely day and not too hot and we didnt get wet till right at the end! :Csmile: Gibbo kicked the poor photographer, DK almost flattened me on to a car, Mini Ellis pulled Dirty Ol man Mr stretch and there was a threesome and all 3 of us got wet! :Cwink: Everyone did well and i know you's are all aching but im hoping you are all present for it next year! We should all eat together next time too as there was a split in what to eat, so some of us went to Nandos and some to Wagamamas, Meh! Pics will be up soon. jelly x

just improvise, mine have padding in all directions there now, they're a b*tch to re-assemble if you have to replace feet, but all shakes there are eliminated, and no more bolt snapping aswell which is a good thing :Claugh:
