Title: Customer Reviews Competition DEC 2009
Post by: webmaster on November 23, 2009, 04:04:54 PM
Hi All

I was thinking about starting a new competition for Christmas and thought this would be a little different from our usual comps and hopefully help fill a new page that I want to create for the website and be used for promotional purposes :D

The prizes are as follows, there is no time limit on them but they can not be exchanged for cash.
1st, £75 spend on any of our websites (www.Pro-Jump.co.uk / www.GhostBikes.com / www.UKGoodDeals.com)
2nd, £50 spend on any of our websites (www.Pro-Jump.co.uk / www.GhostBikes.com / www.UKGoodDeals.com)
3rd, £25 spend on any of our websites (www.Pro-Jump.co.uk / www.GhostBikes.com / www.UKGoodDeals.com)

What you have to do..
This competition is open to anyone who has brought from us, you can write a product review, service review or a bit of both, the review can be a video review, a written review or a little bit of everything.

Judging the comp..
The reviews will be judged on originality and effort put in, you can enter as many times as you want. Depending on the entries received if it is too  hard to judge and we have a close call we will pick the winner at random.

Entries must be in by the 9th of Jan

Just reply to this thread with your entries, if you create more than one please update your original post rather than creating a new reply. Any Questions just ask.

ProJump used to be a bit rubbish but thanks to Naz's constant yelling at FlyingLocust they are now rather good and great value for money. The End.

Thank you very much sprogster... but the above is an example of how not to write a review :P I need something that can be published and I can't take credit for all the hard work the team puts in - as much as I'd love to!

When I get a break from my homework I could try writing a big essay style review (if you want) with a video review to go along side it.

Ahh jason. Those pics made me Laugh out loud. Love the first

I ♥ projump but I don't have time to do a review. The first ever not-in-a-physical-shop shopping was with projump and I genuinely wish that more online shops are as helpful, patient and as nice to deal with as projump and the people behind it. This isn't a review. I am genuinely thankful for the help and patience because I don't think I would have ever been able to get new springs or order anything online ever without it.

Projump FTW

To be serious for once guys I think Naz is after something more like this But more fun and better  :Claugh:

________________________________________________________________________

Oxford Bone Dry Gloves and Jacket

I recently bought an Oxford Bone Dry motocycle jacket and matching gloves from Ghostbikes and must say I am more than pleased

(Insert image of items )

I am fairly large and was pleasantly supprised that the Jacket was roomy but the amasing thing is that the Gloves actually fitted me as I have problems getting glove large enough

Both have proved warm and dry even in the recent weather (Snow and driving rain)
The jacket has a removable liner so should be good for the summer too
The gloves are very articulate and despite being thick enough to keep my hands warm I have no problems picking up my keys if i drop them which is handy as so many gloves nowdays make it hard to operate small swithches

All in all I am very happy with my purchases and will be retuning to Ghostbikes for my future needs

Jason (Now a dry biker)

Naz I left the pics out as I'm sure you have some good ones (at least better than my copy and paste from your site  :Claugh:)

So get writing folks as I just looked at the prizes and they really are quite good and you can't let me win it with the above  :Claugh:

I first bought a set of Pro-Jumps about 3 years ago to lose weight and try something new

I have since bought a total of 6 pair and all except one set are still in use today by me and various other people (I use the last one as spares)

With a little bit of maintainance they last really well
I did look into other makes and tried a few but always found PJ's to be the best value (I mean 1 pair of skips or 6/7 pairs or PJ's  :Claugh:) No contest  :Csmile:

With the value for money and the quality of build I will be buying Pro-Jump in the future

Thanks for a fun hobby and keeping me fit Pro-Jump

ok I'll try this though please ignore any spelling errors I dont have microsoft word anymore to check my spelling

I bought my first set of Pro-Jump stilts about 3 months ago and was amazed by the quality of service offered by Pro-Jump.
The first thing that impressed me was the easy to use website. It was laid out clearly and was extremly easy to navigate to exactly where you wanted to go. On each item there was lots of useful and informative information enabling you to make the right choice in purchase.
The site also included a page with a wide range of safety gear enabling you to choose products which would work well with the stilts themselves.
Another great benefit was the free posting and packing if you were in the uk but should you want a faster delivery or live outside the uk an extremly clear chart explained all the cost before you even bought the item not halfway through the order process like most online stores.
In my mind the most amazing feature of Pro-Jump though was the forum they had set up.
Here you could find even more information about the stilts and how to use them from a huge range of FAQ's, guides, and tutorials which you can access without even joining the forum!
Should you have a question you can't find the answer to or need something more explaining just join and there are many helpful and experienced people to answer your query.
The huge plus though is the ability to talk directly to the owner though the forum which is impossible with so many companies worldwide where you get tied up in call centres.
All in all Pro-Jump is a fantastic company to order from with ease of use and support all the way and one I would happily use again.

Ah! Everything's pink! *frantically searches for theme selector* Ah that's better. Soothing black. ^_^

I'm so tempted to enter this, but at this point all the entries are going to sound pretty similar since we all think pro-jump is so great... I suppose I could take the stance that it sucks, just to stand out... but I don't think I'd be on to a winner with that entry. lol. Oh well, I'll have a go anyway and hope I get extra credit for good spelling. lol. ^_^

Review of Pro-Jump Jumping Stilts at Pro-Jump.co.uk

I received my stilts as a Christmas present from my parents. I was extatic but incredibly shocked since I had never asked for them or even expressed a desire to own a pair. In fact, I think the most extreme item, and closest thing to spring-loaded footwear on my lovingly hand-written Christmas wishlist (addressed to Santa of course) was a pair of Nike running shoes. According to the advert, the trainers too would make one run faster and jump higher. Well after extensive testing I can assure you that the carbon-fibre/fibre-glass springs of the stilts out-perform the rubber-soled trainers by a country mile!...or at least 5ft or so. ...Anyway, given your new insight into the exciting world of my Christmas list (which also included chocolates and LEGO), bouncy leg extensions may seem like an extraordinarliy random and unusual gift. Unusual that is until you learn that for my birthday my parents woke me up at 7am, and without any explination, drove me to an airfield and put me in a shed where I was told I would be doing my first ever skydive that day. This, coupled with the fact that I’m a bit of a wannabe stuntman (a fact that may have been alluded to had I told you the list also contained a number of Jackie Chan movies, and the trainers were for Free-running) should now illuminate the reality that my parents know me incredibly well, and that Pro-Jumps were in fact the perfect gift for me!

Moving along, momentarily after being hit with the overwhelming excitement that accompanies the opening of a surprise present that you actually love (and the relief of not having to fake loving it), I was hit almost as hard with the annoying realisation that December was perhaps not the best month to receive such a shiney new toy. An appropriately Christmassy image of Bambi on ice was the first thing that sprang to mind. And I couldn’t imagine that springs would have made poor Bambi any more stable. Unperturbed however, I strapped my soon to be bionic legs into the metalic kangarroo limbs and began to walk around the kitchen like a pro! ...Ok, maybe a semi pro...alright, I stumbled around clinging to anyone and anything that came into reach, including my little brother and a shockingly dusty cabinet that I had never before been able to see the top of.  After about ten minutes however I was walking around quite happily, and within half an hour I was taking my first tentative hops and jumps. A year later and I was attempting flips and tricks and having the time of my life!

Pro-jumps are the perfect stilt for anyone thinking about taking up the sport. They provide excellent performance at a price that can’t be beaten in the UK. Cheaper brands exist, but don’t be fooled. The performance, build quality and customer service of such other brands are dramatically inferior. There are also more expensive brands which boast slightly more impressive bounce height statistics, but you can perform all of the stunts, tricks and flips on Pro-jumps that you can on even the most expensive of stilt brands (as skillfully proven by the Pro-Jump101 display team) so for value for money Pro-Jump is King of the Kangaroos!

Perhaps the best thing about Pro-Jump, after the fun you’ll have on the stilts themselves, is the internet forum you’ll find on their website. Here you’ll find an online family of friendly (if slightly insane) jumpy people who are always happy to help out a fellow bocker. If you have any problems regarding your new equipment, queries on how to get the best performance out of them, how to find other bockers in your area, or even if you just feel like a chat about absolutely anything – a whole community of knowledgeable, friendly faces are just a few clicks away and ready to give you the answers you seek. The brilliant thing is that the owner of Pro-Jump herself is regularly online, so you know it’s information you can trust.  As well as the online shop to buy spares and safety gear you’ll also find tips on modifying your bocks, an awesome gallery of users photographs and videos, and regular competitions with amazing bocking related prizes! So hopefully, with all the advice and safety gear available to you you’ll never get injured...but if you do, there’s plenty online to keep you entertained while you recover!

Pro-Jump.co.uk really does offer the best customer experience you’re likely to find anywhere on the web. The stilts are fantastic value for money. And the online community is full of funny, happy, bouncy people who will most likely become your new best friends!

Brendan Riley. Bocker. ^_^

The Review Of The Gods

Quiet frankly i think Pro Jumps have filled my soul with inner happiness. They are the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. Infact sliced bread doesn't even come onto the scale, it simply isn't worthy enough. The Pro Jumps themselves are only put into shade by the wonderous owner of this website who's professionalism and beauty holds no bounds. Some say she's so hot she can melt the ice simply by standing still, we know her as the NAZ..

The moment i first put the pro jumps on i felt a feeling of well being flowing through every part of my body, it was better than s*x. And as i started walking the streets people threw rose petals upon the pavement, and to my surprise at least four women within the hour wanted to have my babies. These Pro Jumps should be sold with a warning, only the surface of the sun is hotter than these babies.

And another thing, my body has become ripped to the point where i make the Spartan King Leonidas look like a fatty big mac lover. This is all down to you Pro Jump and your wonderous product, God Bless you Pro Jump! (Starts uncontrollably crying with joy)

If  you have already edited it just pop it on to youtube on a lower quality so it uploads quicker - I can't extend it any more as its not fair on others.
sorry :

Title: Re: Customer Reviews Competition DEC 2009
Post by: Biohazard on January 09, 2010, 08:43:42 PM
It's rendered 90% so theres no point re-rendering, it just depends on Youtube now, but I will also upload it to mediafire if Youtube fails me.
Title: Re: Customer Reviews Competition DEC 2009
Post by: Biohazard on January 09, 2010, 08:56:28 PM
Uploading it to a file hoster atm, the aspect ratio got messed up so it looks a little squished, so I'll re-render it tomorrow and put the fixed version on Youtube.
So count the thing I'm uploading at the low-quality copy just so you can judge it

EDIT: All the file hosting websites I have tried are giving me problems, are you sure I can't render the fixed version over night and upload it to Youtube as soon as I wake up?

Seriously Bio what are you talking about, I quote from wikipedia:
Quote
A render farm is a computer cluster built to render computer-generated imagery (CGI), typically for film and television visual effects, using off-line batch processing.

You don't need a render farm to process your video so that it's watchable
Title: Re: Customer Reviews Competition DEC 2009
Post by: Biohazard on January 09, 2010, 10:03:57 PM
I think your sarcasm detectors are broken :Claugh:.

I have just tried several filehosting websites, and for some reason they cut out at around 99%, they don't seem to like large files.
So my only option is to re-render it overnight(the aspect ratio on the one I was uploading was messed up big time) and put it on Youtube in the morning...which I don't think Naz will like.

Whats the file size and format bio?
Title: Re: Customer Reviews Competition DEC 2009
Post by: Biohazard on January 09, 2010, 10:06:56 PM
About 400mb in .mp4 (which knowing how slow Youtube is will take me ages to upload), which isn't that large but all the good filehosting websites I have tried don't like it.
You can't blame my internet since I'm on 50mb/s fiber optic, so I think I will have to try and upload it in the morning to Vimeo or Youtube.

Have you actually tried uploading to youtube yet?

With all this build up Biohazard i'm expecting something equal to AVATAR at least. I've got my 3D glasses at the ready sat right next to my computer..  :Cwink:

I've sent an email to my mate at Pixar to find out if they can lend you some processing power.. LOL

What time is the Premier Bio (and can I have your autograph )

This should rival the Coronation

Could it be that the video is corrupted at the 99% mark? In my experience with mp4, it's hard to work with conversion wise, might be worth encoding it into .avi or .wmv

I've got my Real-D, Anaglyph and Color-Code 3D glasses ready, I'm set for all formats of 3D! :D

It's just 15 minutes of me blabbering about Pro-Jumps, with stuttering, lisp and my accent thrown in due to my camera shyness (I get that cringing feeling that you get when you see yourself on camera) :Cconfused:

At the moment my internet connection is breaking the boundaries of time and space, while being a bit unreliable.
Somehow I uploaded a 500mb file to Youtube in 3 seconds, and filefront is saying I'm getting +100mb/s upload speeds when I should only be getting about 10mb/s(I wish I could get the same upload as download, 50mb/s is fun).

Anyway here's the copy with the messed up aspect ratio, still processing though(so it says it's not available):

I should do some Vegas trickery to make the final copy 3D so you guys can use your Avatar glasses :Cerr:

mpeg is a format I avoid. As is WMV. Tbh, rendering is an art of it's own. What you want is lowest file size with maximum quality in a format that is widely accepted. It's getting the balance right and rendering for purpose. Formats are often seen as the most important thing and it isn't. The way it is encoded is. For web I export as an AVI using sorenson squeeze as an encoder. A good quality vid will be something like 10mb per min. Which is pretty awesome. I'd show a vid using the set up but it involves me playing jenga dressed as a granny :D

For good upload speeds you need business internet!

I guess I'll get my fixed copy to render as a AVI overnight, it says the video with the broken aspect ratio is processing but I don't know how long it will take, just don't expect anything AVATAR quality cause I am the most camera shy person on earth :Claugh:

Just make sure it doesn't go over 2gb if you are exporting it as a raw file. On the plus side tho if it is a raw avi the render times are fast!

The thing is, the raw footage fron my cam is MPEG-4 anyway.

I just meant if exporting as a raw uncompressed avi opposed to an encoded one.

Hey Biohazard don't put yourself down matey, Johnathan Ross has made millions out of having a lisp, bit of a stutter and talking crap. I'm well known for talking crap and hasn't done me any harm. Good luck, I vote the competition is extended for this guy to show his stuff.

he has something uploaded. It doesn't have to be perfect. it's an entry and knowing there is a better quality version going up, it isn't going to affect results. And any kind of extension would need support of current entrants.

I'm looking forward to it ;) Tbh, you got more guts than me. I would never do a vid of myself!

I'm surprised at how quickly my PC is rendering it, I made one re-render and had made another stupid mistake, so now doing the 3rd render.
I just feel like you guys will be disappointed by it, I'm not  confident person! :Cmask:

Youtube removed my damn video because it was too long, so I will upload it to Vimeo first thing in the morning and then split it into two parts for Youtube so it can be seen by a wider audience!

Time to stay up late messing around with Youtube/Vimeo!

I submitted my entry ealier but Youtube doesn't like a video more than 10 minutes long, you can still see the preview picture though, so I'm not submitting 15 minutes of blank video!

i have an admission to make. I completely lied about the rose petals. Does this make me a bad person?

Aww, and it was such a lovely image. ...I choose to believe it was real anyway. =)
