-
This should be a good watch
Jason :Hoofies2: :CGEEK:
-
kewl thanks for the heads up ill be watching that :) good bit of advertising for the sport :)
-
Really looking forward to this tbh!
-
Naz, can you record it ? :Cnotworthy:
-
I shall try my best
-
First show of the series is on this evening - no powerbocking til Friday, but tonight is BMXing for the boys and Street Luge for the girls! :)
-
Just noticed free tickets linked through the channel 4 site http://www.applausestore.com/applausestore-book-form.php?did=2635&bid=1 which I guess is of value if your in Liverpool or thereabouts. :Csmile:
-
I hope it gets better than what I've seen so far. Not sure chris evans was a good choice. He's shouting more than schofe does and he cant even get the name of the show right lol.
-
I think 2 hours is too long for a show like this tbh, it was trending on twitter though!
-
Yeah I think its 90 mins tomorrow and hopefully as the week goes on the live format will fit together a little better. Might even get chris to stop shouting.
I dont think the girls street luge really worked being a recorded event. 3000 people watching it on a big tv screen in an arena? Fail.
-
Might need to give this a deeks on 40d, i forgot to watch it haha
-
I thought todays one was a better, loved the monster truck and minimotos brought a few memories back as we use to sell them a longggggg time ago lol
Not so sure on the pre recorded stuff though...
-
I've got to 4od last nights show yet but I thought the first show lacked flow. I just hope interest holds out till the PJ night and that the production gets a little better as the shows go by.
:spudT:
-
Jenny on the skateboarding :Cwideeyed: haha
-
I know becky has just arrived to do some more training with some of the girls tomorrow before bocking on the show on fri. I hope its good.
-
Locky, you know what they are going to be doing, running / jumping or tricks? Or is it top secret?
:Cwideeyed:
-
Its top secret and its running lol.
Just the girls. Dame Holmes is going to win the bocking.
-
if her knees hold out... sent some knee bar cuffs which seem to have helped but i think she has buggered her knee up in the segway fail relay
-
Locky
If it's Top Secret does that mean you now have to kill everyone that has read this post :Claugh:
Oh and by the way I didn't read it :Cno: :Claugh:
Jason :Hoofies2: :CGEEK:
-
There are no secrets. Ask Wikileaks.
By the sound of it, Becky is having a blast :)
-
I know it's impossible now...But I wanted Lomu to win.
-
Jenny or kelly will win i think. Team Jenny haha
-
How long did they have to master the stilts?
-
A couple of sessions me thinks, Becky will update you all I'm sure! They all seems to find it hard.
-
have i missed it?? Was it on first?
-
Well that was a bit of an anti-climax wasn't it.
:Cwideeyed:
-
gona have to 40d it haha Hustle is on at 9 haha
-
Yeah Graham it was :/
I think a 3 legged race would have been more exciting.
-
They should have put some small jumps in at least
-
They thought that PowerBocking was dangerous and most likely to cause injury, I know this is a misconception but after what happened to Samuel they decided they would make it as simple as possible. They were going to have a powerbocking showpiece as well but cancelled that too.
I thought it was ok, didn't do any harm and I'll keep an eye out if there is a surge in traffic on any of our sites. There's already a few comments on twitter on powerbocks and powerbocking so that cool :)
I've recorded it and its uploading now.
-
The great thing about bocking is how quickly it is to pick up but it takes much longer to refine, the refinement was missing! Ian looked alright though!
:spudT:
-
well if anyone wants some second hand M80's point them in my direction haha they good not been used much :P. it better be worth a 40d anyhow
-
This is the training they did with Ian http://famousandfearless.channel4.com/videos/69 but they did a lot more with Becky during the last week.
Theres some more on this http://famousandfearless.channel4.com/videos?tag=Powerbocking
-
hey naz are the stilts they used going cheep or up for grabs ??? :Ctongue:
-
if so put my name down haha :)
-
Don't get me wrong. I agree it's great publicity for us, and you might get a lot of interest from what was shown.
Just expected a bit more on the show.
-
I watched the training video. Shame they didn't show it.
-

Yup!! :)
Ian and I both trained the girls before the event to make sure they could safely run but the production company decided jumping was too dangerous and too hard to make into a competition. I think they roughly had 2 1/2 days training on them spread over two months, mixed in with all the other sports they were trying to learn at the same time. I think they found bocking more difficult because it required strength, fitness and energy where as most of the others were sports which used equipment that had engines in them and didn't require quite the endurance that bocking does! They all did well considering the limited amount of training they had been given and how scared they were of falling off them on national tv! And the fact that it was the last day and they were all shattered and quite injured!
As Naz said they were worried that the girls would fall over on these and that held a higher risk of injury than the other activities they were doing, which is why it was last. Made for a good show for it to be part of though because the final was likely to attract a bigger audience than any other show - more promo for power bocking! :)

The stilts were bought by the production company so you would need to contact them if you were interested in buying them. I think possibly one or two of the celebs would have taken them home with them if they could.
I've just checked the stats on the EPB site and we have gone from 5 hits a day to 50 yesterday, so the publicity worked for us!
-
Hi becky, do you have a way of contacting the company? i really want some haha
-
Publicity is working here as well :) by chance a random guy said to me "OMG did you watch famous and fearless, I really want those spring things... about 2 hours later and after many videos on my phone he finally believed that I use them ¬¬"
-
Hi becky, do you have a way of contacting the company? i really want some haha
It was produced by Princess Productions, so I guess contact them: http://www.princesstv.com
They might not be selling them though!
-
ok, thanks
-
Just to add to Becky's post, we saw a massive surge in traffic, infact a 136% rise which is very good indeed, its not shown a massive rise in purchases but I think its given us a few sales we wouldn't have got otherwise and its most definitely raised general public awareness.

Sales may happen more slowly as it is the beggining of January when most people are counting the pennies till next pay day.
-
Agreed ET
I did a lot of research and joined up here a week or two before I bought so you may find sales jump in a week or so

Cool Pics
I like the girls...even they o not use the right Stilts ;-)
-
you getting jealous Speedjumper :P lol
they did well and celebs don't like bruises they like cotton wool and money so of course they weren't going to do anything major :P i think like a professional runner though had the slight advantage lmao.
Aidan :Cwink:
-
my thinking is that the other 2 let her win because she was the runner that jenny girl didnt even look like she was trying!!
-
two had an injured knee and the other an injured hip, but you are right in thinking that none of them wanted to fall over! I think with more than a few days practice they could all have done much more, but there just wasn't time amongst all of the other sports that they had to train for!
