i'm very happy with my Exo's so i pimped them a little..

I put on my Viper calf cuffs, but with the Pro-jump cuffs padding inside because it's thicker. I also cut 8cm off of the metal cuff holders.
Added tyre armor. (double sided tape and laced so they are very tight)
Added Jasons hoofies material to the hoofs. (glued and screwed) I'm thinking of replacing the hex bolts on the hoofs with butterfly bolts if i can find light colored indoor hoofs so they are easily replaceable.
Added better bindings.

First of all, let me apologize for this necro post, but I couldn't help myself.
Secondly: Birt, I love what you've done to those stilts - they look awesome! :Cnotworthy:
I'd love to know how you did the hoofies. I've tried/done Squeekers Exo sock mod, but I can't seem to get those quite right. They still slip a bit.
Something like what you did would probably need more invasive measures to the Exo hooves than wrapping a piece of atb tire arround them, but like I said: I'd love to know how you did it.

Ralph

It is simple really mate I do all of mine like that now as it is so quick and give fab traction
First you buy a Motocross tyre I use the V-rubber front ones (a 2.75 x 21" I think ) as it gave a good tread pattern and was cheap (same pattern you see on Birt's ones)
Cut them to size (you can get 7 sets if you cut carefully) and attach them with twin thread woodscrews (screwfix gold screws work well)
I think Birt used glue as well but I have just screwed mine on and they are still there on 2 pairs after over a year

So just punch out the holes in hoofies and screw the into the rubber hooves?
Sounds easy enough :Cerr:

Don't even worry about punching holes mate the screws go straight through the tyres and grip in the rubber hoofs
Just don't over tighten the screws or they tear the rubber up just do them up till they are in and then stop

Even better.
Any particular size screw I should use?
Cheers!

short screws with a wide thread. wood screws are cheap and easy.

Good to know
OK, now it's of to find a cheap motorcross bike tyre with the right profile.
Thanks, guys!

Hi Raephen
These are the ones I use mate
http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?catref=526671&tier1url=Tyres&tier2url=Motocross-and-Off-Road-Tyres&tier3url=Vee-Rubber
On the old style I used to use a 330R21 but I found that on the new Exo hoofs the 275R21 give a better fit also I can guarantee they grip well and last well
Some tyres are harder and will last longer but may slip while others may grip better but may not last as well so choose carefully
I went through about 3 types before I found these
I know they cost £27 and the postage is another £5-50 but do remember you get 6 or 7 sets it works out very cheap (under £5 a set)
I have only used the gold screws from screwfix as they have a high grip and a very thin shaft so they don't work loose in the rubber (and they are cheap )think I used 25mm last time but it could have been 30mm
One other tip is to cut the sidewall off in one piece so you don't have to cut the wire strengthener as this is tough
I use a stanley knife to cut mine up but be careful as they cut fingers and legs very well too :Claugh:
