Hey all,
Just a simple question, I wanna do something epic with tyre armor so I wanted to add some LEDs to it. I was just wondering, since I am total **** at remembering to change batteries, is there enough energy from an average (like, 1 foot) jump for a dynamo charger to be feasible? The whole assembly will be fairly simple, with 9 LEDs per spring (so I only need a total of 4 microchips to make them flash and still clock over to a 555).

i think you should try the dynamo charger in a temporary setup first. it's really hard to answer your question since (as far as i know) nobody has tried adding a dynamo to stilts yet.

I dont see how really. Someone fairly recently did a great mod with led's down the back of the spring. Looked really good.
As for batteries, we're talking a few led's here. couple of AA's is all you will need. Could probably tape some spare ones to the stilts too!

Yeah good point... I think I'll try a temp setup and if it doesn't work, just a shedload of backup batteries.

Might be worth looking at one of those shake to charge torches
Leds don't draw much current and you would get lots of charge while bouncing
They don't weigh much so could be strapped to a bock

Yh, that's a good idea. I think I have a couple of those torches lying around somwhere so I might use them
