See, it's not that hard really.  I hope you have tightened the Jubilee clips nice and tight, you don't want your socks slipping.

Raining!?!  It's hot and dry down here in "Sunny Bournemouth".

re skinny legs --u can also get insulatinf foam tubes from plumbers supply shops.  And yes cutting thru tyres can be tricky ( wish I could have got a grown up for me). I used 1 of those DIY knifes with the blades that extend out --had it at full extension. It broke blade whistled past my head only just missing face.

I gave up un put pink childrens size 11 converse hi tops on instead ---they work --and Roxx. Tho funniest comment i got was from some one shouting at his m8s, 'ere look he's got gay converse on'  somehow I dont think I could argue that point ;D

and

Bbmthbloke

u was using a stanly knife by the sounds of it and yer i wouldnt recommend using 1 on tyres

ive ehard they give much better grip on grass and gravel if you have a bumpy tire (mountain bike)

They do give improved grip, IMO road tyres are best, I have tested both and Road tyres certainly gave more grip on both the road and grass. Offroads grip well offroad, but onroad they slide quite a bit as the nobbles reduce the surface area touching the road.

all my BMX's have had road tyres on them but thts bcas i used them in skateparks not on grass on in mud or nething but i stole my sisters wheel lol i'll soon have her innertubes :D:D but my tyre socks work wonders for concrete i dont use them on grass or nething but i rreally only put them there to stop wear as my hoofs are nearly smooth :'(

I prefer mountaim bike tyres k**bbly for more grip (but I fell over and broke my wrist so I might not be the best person to listen to  ;) ;D)

You know the metal band clip (the screwy thing that holds the sock  in place), will 50mm be big enough?

i dont no i didnt use 1 i used about 4 biggish cable ties and pulled them extremely tight this has held so far then just taped them up to match the sock

I've just had to make my first set of booties ( Shame the real hoof's don't last )  ???
But If I say so myself they look great ( as far as a a boot can look great ) I'll post a picture in a minuet, or have a look in the morning ( less than a day to the BIG ONE ) !  8)

Was in Halfords and was looking in their clear out bin and pull out a kiddies tyre for £1.38 ( odd price ) and had to buy it. it's a small tyre if I'm lucky i should get two set from it, but Why did I have to grab it ..... it's RED  :o
Who wants a boring black hoof when you can have RED  ;D
I'm still on my first pair but when I use it I'll post pictures of them :)

I've got a new pair of hoofs to use someday but I'm still using the ones I got with my JP's ( both have holes in them ).
I notice that if you've not tightened them up the tyre slips a little ( I warm the rubber first ).
Well I found that  very small tack nails pushed well in the very front of the hoof stops this. In time maybe the rubber may wear but you should be OK for at least 10-20 times ( before problems start ) and how long do socks/booties last !?

My hoofs dont slip now, but I don't know how long you can do this trick !?

You could do this for a say 10 times then try without again. You maybe better at fitting them by then  :)
