We did tell you that weeks ago lol!

I've been with aol for so many years and its just the hassel of changing my primary email addy that keeps me with them. However I got a fab deal this year after I said I was going to go elsewhere.

£9.99 for 8mb BB and free UK national and weekend calls. Thats a £20 drop from what I had been paying :)

you don't need to be old, i just had harsh parents but i can see why being old helps it leaves some deep scars ;).

people who  had dial-up should have been given some kind of victims support or something and maybe Amnesty international should have gone on a campaign about it as well because it was worse than torture

Don't go with Tiscali, my net's been down 2 weeks instead of 2 hours.
First it was their fault, then they decided it was BT, BT said it was Tiscali, tiscali said 8-10 days and I'd have net back, 12 days go by, then they decide it's the router, router people say "nooooo, it's tiscali", tiscali say "noooo, it's the router", router people go "oh yeah, it is us" and list about a gazillion things I'd already done and tried, and finally got it to work by.... installing old firmware on the router :-X

Surely it's the router you should be complaining about Sprog  ;D

I moaned for ages about my Tiscali BB speed and that it kept going off or disconecting me

Then I ran a new line from the main BT box in my house directly to the router and sudenly I've got 4 times the speed and totaly reliable so it was my fault all along (and BT's)

Now I am a Tiscali fan 2 meg almost 24-7

I had AOL 56k dial-up internet when I first started off, and then changed it for Blueyonder aka Virgin Media. I found a 12k modem card in my workshop the other day, not sure why it was there, may have been my mate working on a machine!

Yeah, but it's the fact they sent me round and round in circles (you never get to speak to the same person again) before deciding that it wasn't their problem :(

So for the people on AOL (DK etc)....

am I right in thinking that the certain sites you cant access with the AOL browser (I think www.capitalbocking.co.uk was one of them) you can actually get to using FireFox?

If so, then thats purely a problem with their browser and they should hire some better |337 haxors to code their software - or better yet do what BT do and stick Firefox on their install cd :)

Agreed, AOL Browser is utterly useless.
But AOL will never provide you with Firefox because...
AOL = America Off-Line = They make lots of money from their browser software
FireFox = Everyone Online = Free, so AOL don't make any money at all as they are not allowed to sell it to you, so they would have to drop their prices
