PINHEAD69's mods - footplate guard
« on: October 15, 2007, 04:18:55 AM »
the next mod i made is the footplate guard...
as i heard a few break theirs on falls etc...i decided
to protect the front....
these are made from a very large jubillee clip which
cost around £1 to £2 from any hardware shop...i just cut
it down with a hacksaw and filed the ends off neatly...it is fixed via 5 screws
through the centre into the footplate... easy peasy...looks cool....and works fantastic..........

thanks dude...
this one is quite easy and quick to do....
you want the large jubilee clip about £1 to £2 max to buy...
from most small hardware stores...you will need 2 ok...
its easy to cut with a hacksaw...just take your time
drilling the holes central, as its shiny and will make your drill bit
slide.. maybe centre punch a dot first in the centre for the drill bit to grip..
it bends easy to...so use some large pliers and apply small
pressure to bend them... they fit perfect and snug and match the curve of the footplate...on 7's there are 5 places where you can fix them to the footplate...
no bolts...just screw them through after pre drilling a smaller hole so the screws
grip tight...dont overtighten...
