Adjusting The Knee Bar - So it's right for you!
« on: November 05, 2007, 09:45:39 PM »
One of the first things you should do when you get your Pro-Jump's is to adjust your knee bar so it's right for you.

The ideal place for most is so that the kneebar is resting just underneath you kneecap, however once you become more familiar with your stilts you will then realise what your best resting place for the bar is - Some people like it quite high up where as others prefer it a few cm's below the knee cap.

ADJUSTING THE KNEE BAR GUIDE:
The knee bar should be resting just underneath your kneecap.

To adjust the knee bar you will need an Allen key and a 10mm Spanner.

There are 4 Allen key bolts on the plastic collar that holds the knee bar in place.

The plastic collar looks like this

These 4 bolts need to be loosened which then allows the knee bar to move up and down. Do not undo them completely, as there is no need.

Loosen them so that it can be moved up and down without actually loosening them so much that they completely come off.

Once you have set it to the ideal place for you then tighten all the bolts back up evenly, firmly tighten the screws but do not over-tighten them.

A good tip suggested by Urbantricker is that you should work on the screws one at a time but diagonally -  So do one, then go diagonally across and tighten the other one then do the same again, so that the plastic parts come together square.

Another tip by PinHead69 is never to do the screws tight straightaway but always do them evenly so you are working on them one at a time, tightening them a little but not all the way, eventually getting them all tight - and remembering not to over tighten them as you may damage it!
