Thats a bummer!!! That looks like a proper scr***e you done on your springs, shame that it happened when you taped them too. Looks just like a surface wound. Also, I would only be worried if it was at the bottom of the spring, nearer the foot plate.

I think you mean half way ( maximum bend ) but it does look like the bottom as the metal hoof covers the rest  :-\
Don't bite me ! .... too hard  :P

Nope, I'm talkign near the bottom, only because of seeing how badly they break apart if fractured down there (see Nuttas first spring break)

That first break of mine, scared me to death, and it just went, but the damage does not look too bad, and can still be used, as carl green has said, just keep a eye on it, and save up for some new springs, I would use bike inner tube or a bike tyre over the spring for some good protection!!

i figure if they gonna break they will break, worry about that as i land.

Ive used springs in worse condition than that for ages, my 1st set! I use a car seatbelt cover at the minute to protect mine, but I think the bike tyre idea will be in use rather shortly!

Anything rubber over the springs, like bike tire, bike innertube works really well, to stop the spring getting damage
