Parisian company Friches Théâtre Urbain specializes in large-scale, outdoor promenade performances and Mephistomania is a stunning spectacle that weaves its way through the streets of Norwich. Follow the five colourful dervishes on tall stilts as they reveal the famous story of Faust – the man who sold his soul to the devil for the fleeting pleasures of life. This incredible procession is an explosion of pyrotechnics, street theatre, music and wild dancing. Gather by the west door to the cathedral to start this amazing journey.
Xarxa (say “sharsha”) Teatre, Spanish masters of fire, explode into the festival with a huge and spectacular pyrotechnic show where fire turns into water! Veles e Vents (Sails and Winds) was originally conceived for the opening of the channel tunnel – it is inspired by the beauty and force of the sea, and by the work of Valencian poet Ausiàs March.
